How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsNearly Instant Pain Relief
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2021
I've had carpal tunnel for quite some time. Had it in both wrists from decades' worth of legal work - typing, more typing, and still yet more typing. Over the last few months, my right hand/wrist/forearm/upper arm/shoulder has had increasing pain after spending 40 hours a week at work with a "typical" not-terribly-ergonomic mouse.

On a whim, I started looking for alternatives. I found vertical mouse reviews on YouTube, and looked around some more. Decided I would try this product, as the price point was low enough that - even if it didn't work as hoped, or worked and then died - I didn't have any heartburn tossing the money in the bin for the experience.

As soon as I got the mouse, I put it to work. Did some regular computer stuff to get a feel for the different set up (and boy, is it weird at first!). Kept knocking it over (it's about 4 inches tall), fought with the cord (the cord had been wired up tight, and so it would push the mouse around as the cord unraveled and relaxed), but after about an hour or so - wow! NO PAIN OR DISCOMFORT WHATSOEVER.

At work I use a garbage mouse. At home I use an ergonomic gaming mouse. But this $15 product beats all of it, hands down.

REALLY like this product. Can't recommend it strongly enough.

2.0 out of 5 starsNot so ergonomic
Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2021
I work from home and needed a better mouse. I used one of these mouses before and I really like the way it felt and the comfort it provided. I decide to buy this mouse because I saw that it had good reviews, so I decided to try it. This mouse it totally different then what I used before. To me I do work long hours sometimes and when using the mouse it sometimes does not respond when I need it to. Also I do find that my wrist will start to hurt after only using it for 3 hours. I am right handed but I never experienced an issue with any mouse I have used in the pass, not even the flat ones. I would not recommend this mouse for every day use or people who are looking for something comfortable or to relax their wrist and take the pressure off it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll never go back to a traditional style mouse
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2021

I absolutely love this product! Due to Covid I've had to adapt to a work at home line of business. I was surprised how exhausted and achy I felt at the end of each shift. After learning about office ergonomics I changed my desk set up and began to seek products that would give me relief. This verticle mouse is by far my favorite new office tool. I was unsure about this odd looking device at first but gotta say it feels so natural. Holding a mouse with the "hand shake position" relives so much tension that you may not even realize is straining you through out the day. I have Tourette's and often have a great deal of neck pain. While this obviously isn't a cure to pain, I did find relief by not causing further strain through out the day. No matter your health or age I highly recommend this vertical mouse. Why use a product that is going to lead to strain and risk of issues such as carpal tunnel? I am very pleased with the range of movement i have with this vertical mouse. I enjoy the page back and forward buttons. The DPI button is cool but i personally don't have much use for it, although it is much more convenient then going into settings. It is a bit stylish as well. i don't think the picture really can capture an angle that shows the sleek design. This is surley a conversation piece right on your desk, easily leads to conversation others will be intrigued by. There are alot of option for this style mouse. I spent alot of time going through diffent options and I truly like this one. Good quality at a good price. I can't justify spending more for something that is marketed in a more jazzy way but produces the same results. I haven't done any hard gaming since getting this mouse but i'm anticipating a very positive experince based off of my current satisfaction.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT MOUSE!

GREAT MOUSE! If you're looking for an ergo mouse, this is a great choice for the price.

This is my second ergo mouse purchase and I am very pleased with this one. The first one was cheaply made and the scroll wheel didn't work well. This one, for the same price, feels much more solid and durable in the hand. The ergo design is about exactly what I would expect from a mouse. My wrist rests on the side instead of on the bottom like with traditional mice. The buttons require a firm click, especially the center scroll wheel. The blue LED is a nice touch to find in the dark but not too bright to light up a dark room. Yes, buy this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Design failure
Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2021
Color: BlackStyle: WiredVerified Purchase
I just installed this and I can already tell that the sideways design is a flop. Yes, it is a more comfortable position for the hand (sort of, more later), but at the cost of poor precision and more accidental clicks. In a normal mouse configuration the button presses are orthogonal to the direction you move the mouse (button presses are vertical, mouse movement is horizontal), with this design both mouse movement and button presses are horizontal. What that means is A) when you click the mouse it actually pushes the mouse horizontally, ruining precision, and B) when you're moving the mouse you can unintentionally click the buttons. And while the wrist position is more natural, there is also a cost in that now all your hand weight can end up resting on your pinkie, which is tiny and weak, instead of the palm of your hand, which is more durable and less likely to fatigue. I am extremely disappointed with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge relief to wrist and shoulder
Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2021
Color: BlackStyle: WirelessVerified Purchase
A few years ago I developed piercing pain from my shoulder radiating down my arm and across my back. When I finally went to see a doctor, she set me up with physical therapy appointments and said to get myself an ergonomic mouse. I had no idea that was even a thing! After months of PT and changing my mouse, my shoulder/arm/back was back to normal. Then COVID hit, and everyone starts working from home, where I did NOT have an ergonomic mouse. After a couple months, those familiar pains started coming back. I ordered this mouse and it was truly an overnight fix. Our bodies are not designed for our hands to be 'flat' on a desktop (or mouse) all day long, so this "side-mouse" is perfect. Easy to use and 'install" (wirelessly). I was already used to using an ergonomic mouse, so there was no learning curve there, but years ago there was some getting used to it but I promise it's worth it to your pain-free life! I've been using this for about 3+ months now and I have not had to change the batteries (and I leave it "on" all the time). Great product. Totally worth it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not NEW!
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2021

The mouse was delivered obviously previously opened - it was clearly not shipped to me in New condition. The batteries were gone (although obviously had been shipped as evidenced by the plastic holder). The box was a bit ripped too (my first indication.)

UPDATE: When I loaded batteries in, I couldn't get the unit to connect. Gave up after several tries - perhaps this is what happened to whoever returned the mouse before as well. Obviously, I'm returning - hopefully it doesn't arrive at some other "new" user's home again!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it. I haven't used any other vertical mice ...
Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2018
Color: BlackStyle: WirelessVerified Purchase
I love it. I haven't used any other vertical mice to compare it with. But I have used dozens of Logitech, Microsoft, and OEM mice. And a couple of touch pads and pointers. This mouse beats them all.
I wondered about the browser back and forward buttons and thought they were gimmicks I'd never get used to using. It took exactly two clicks for them to become second nature.
My wrist and hand are particularly happy with the reorientation of my mousing adventures.
It has a pretty clever battery saving system that has required some retraining on my part. When it sits idle long enough it goes into deep sleep which requires a (mechanical) mouse click to wake it. I really like this for two reasons: 1) Electronic switches are using power whether they're "on" or not. 2) It doesn't wake my computer just because it or the desk get nudged.
The scroll wheel works very well. It also functions as the center button which entails my one complaint; it's really stiff. If that's related to how ell the wheel works, well then I'll take it.
That's it for the first month of use.
Update: Thanks to Perixx! I had an issue that I assured them was my fault and they helped me out anyway. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal solution for people with 'heavy fingers'
Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2022
Color: BlackStyle: WirelessVerified Purchase
After 72 trips around the sun, my arthritis was beginning to give me RSI issues. Inevitably my 'tired fingers' would inadvertently right-click the 'regular mouse' right button, causing the fly-out menu to appear when I didn't want it to. After doing some noodling around on Amazon, I discovered the 'vertical mouse' product and because it was fairly inexpensive, I decided to give it a try. VERY HAPPY with the purchase. Helps a lot with 'sore wrist' issues as well. Highly recommend you try this if you are experiencing 'unwanted' mouse-clicks with a 'conventional' mouse! Note: This product is available in left and right-handed models, read the product description very carefully to ensure you get the correct product for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly like Anker wired vertical mouse except this one has smooth buttons
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2022
Color: BlackStyle: WiredVerified Purchase
I ordered this Perixx mouse and the very similar Anker one together. Their designs are very similar except:

1. The positions of branding on the mice: Perixx puts its brand name on the left mouse button near the top away from the user. Anker puts its name near the bottom of palm rest of the mouse facing the user.

2. Perixx has a white "DPI" word printed on the DPI button. Anker does not.

3. Perixx has a blue LED. Anker one has a red LED. (I read that the wired Anker vertical mouse used to have a blue LED in the past but then changed to red in 2020 or 2021.)

4. Most importantly: The left, right and DPI buttons on Perixx have smooth surfaces. Anker has rubberized textured buttons, which feel more comfortable.

I have the same main complaint for both the wired Perixx and Anker vertical mice, and it is about their DPI settings: the mice do not offer any kind of visual cue, feedback or signal to indicate the current DPI settings or when I press the button to switch the DPI. I do not know the current DPI setting of the mice or if pressing on the DPI buttons work until I move the mouse, (i.e., the higher DPI moves the mouse cursor faster.) IMO, it would be an improvement if the LED would change colors for different DPI settings. At least, the LED should flash when the DPI setting is successfully changed.

In the end, I decided to keep Anker and return Perixx because the rubber textured buttons feel more comfortable.
