I ended up returning my data recovery plan since the memory stick it was to cover was defective. BUT, I contacted the company’s customer service department with a problem. My only return choice was to credit my original purchase method. However, my payment method was deactivated and replaced. So the company came up with a fix within about an hour of me sending my message. My refund is on its way without any further complications. I would highly recommend these guys based on my experience with their customer service since this is likely who you will deal with if you need to utilize this plan!

Even though it says a"2 year data recovery" it is only good for 30 days. Play of words? Besides, by the time I got the actual regiostration it was too late anyway. I kept getting an email that it was going to be sent via regular mail and my mailing address was wrong. I finally got a copy when I got in touch with them about the failing thumb drive. The rep was courteous but that's about all. Sure it was just $3.99 but it's the principle of the thing. From now on I will avoid the warranties.

I have purchased 5-6 external hard drives and 5 sd cards with this plan. I've had to actually use the service once, and they recovered every bit of my lost data. I found the process to be very well done. It took a bit longer than I originally expected to get my data back (about 10 days), but the recovered data was returned on a brand new drive and it was even in the same format. I'm thankful for this kind of service. I'll buy it every time.

I just followed the original email and registered my product / thumb drive. (Keep track of the claim number shown on this page) I then called the claim number and spoke with an employee that took my info and she will be sending out a box / label in the next week.

They claim they don't send back your drive / media. This really stinks as the media is covered under the manufacture warranty for 5 years (meaning if I send it in to Kingston, I get a new device), So apparently stuck between returning it to Kingston and getting a new device, or to "Rescue" and not getting it back an having no idea if I will get my data back.
This was a stupid purchase.

It was a big hassle trying to register with the company and finally just called them. If you take the time to register the card with the manufacture, you will discover that they offer data recovery software... don't waste your money!
