Works but the directions supplied are all wrong

The rocks initially produced no results. But then I placed them into a 3 gallon ceramic water dispenser. The results were remarkable, I guess the difference is that all water dishes need to be rinsed out and cleaned and the chemical produced by the rocks rinsed away. With them always soaking in the water dispenser they work like magic. My newly sprouted grass seedlings are not even harmed. I also break the rocks into smaller pieces at the end of the month with a hammer in an old towel and get a second month out of them. I don't have to worry about the dogs choking on smaller rocks as the water dispenser will not let them pass through.

I really wanted this product to work. Used it faithfully per instructions for a year. Communicated with company and sent pictures of all the burned spots in my yard. They advised instead of putting the rocks in the water dish to measure out water into a jug and put rocks in jug sitting overnight before adding to water dish next day. Committed another full year and the picture shows how it did NOT work!!! All the burn spots had to dig out burned grass and fill with dirt and Scott’s Patch Master. I requested a refund but the company now wants me to double the qty of rocks and since they cannot refund will send one 2 month supply. I have already invested a lot in rocks for 2 years and asked for a 6 month supply to see if their new plan would even work. They were not willing to budge. I have a 3 yr old healthy dog. The picture clearly shows this product DOES NOT WORK.

They work-But you need to use a container

Well, we have tried probably 4 different, highly rated options to battle the killing of the grass. Finally a product that works! My tips which I build off of others that shared in reviews: buy 2 gallon sized containers. Put the rocks in the containers with water (not the dog’s dish). Get enough rocks to measure correctly (very important) and keep both containers filled and rotating. As you fill the dogs dish up, refill that container, but then use the container that had been sitting for a bit next. That way you are using water that has been ‘treated’ for enough time each time you pour water into the dish.
I believe this is why these don’t work for some people. They put the rocks in the dish, put new water on top of them, not giving it any time to sit with the rocks.
And I have a cat that occasionally will drink from the dog’s dish-no issue.

No more burnt lawn!

This product works! I initially bought it just to try, figuring it wasn't too expensive if it was just a scam, but we have zero burn spots in our lawn since we started using the rocks. We keep them in a pitcher, fill the dog dishes from the pitcher and then keep it topped off rather than having the rocks in the water dish.

These are great! I have three dogs and recently moved into place which the owners were very concerned about their lawn. I kind of took a leap of faith and told them not to worry about it, I would use the rocks to prevent the yellow spots. Thankfully they didn’t let me down! They MUST be used right. I personally bought two 2qt pitchers and put a pack of rocks in each pitcher, if you read the package the rocks are good for 2qts of water, which is perfect. I rotate the pitchers, one pitcher a day, making sure that they’ve had at least over night to soak. The rocks aren’t magic, they need about 12 hrs to filter the water. Just make sure to read the directions thoroughly and they should work! Three dogs, no yellow spots. Awesome.

These are easy to use, and I put the enclosed reminder on the calendar so I'd know when two months was up. We have two male dogs, and we keep these rocks in each of their water buckets. The dogs don't seem to notice. BUT! Our lawns certainly noticed. Really, the rings and patches of dead grass are substantially reduced. I believe even the rocks don't help in spots where both dogs pee repeatedly. And it doesn't help peeing on bushes. Our lawn has improved drastically, so we keep using these and have for eight years. Wish the price were lower on multi-packs.

Was skeptical. Read about how they work and gave it a try. Started using while there was snow on the ground, so by spring I noticed no burn marks. As summer has progressed, my 105lb pit/lab mix drinks a lot of water on the fly, which has left a couple mild burn spots, otherwise they work! Don't break them up, for obvious choke hazard, even if the water is in a separate dispenser. Small, sharp shards can break off making their way into your dog's drinking bowl. I use them for the recommended two full months with no change in effectiveness. I do wash the bowl & rocks with every refill.

I've been using these for two years and we have had GREAT results. We currently have two male Weims and had a female on them too. We watch my friends pup when they are out of town and he has destroyed our grass...now we have them on the rocks so that our yard isn't spotty. Would recommend for sure!!!!!
PS...you have to give these time. You won't see any change in the a few days. Be patient. I was giving my pups the grass saver pills and those didn't work at all AND one of the pups got in to them and I had to get his stomach pumped because there are chemicals in them. These rocks...are just rocks with minerals that your dog drinks when he drinks from rivers and streams!

Dog Rocks Work

We have been using Dog Rocks for about two years and we have seen that the treated water truly does keep the dog urine from killing the grass. We do have one problem: We live on a farm and there are water sources for the livestock that the dogs can (and do) access, so we cannot restrict their water intake to only treated water. We will continue to use them because we do see some benefit.

We have 2 German Shepherds that hang out in the backyard all day! I have used the Dog Rocks in their water for about a year now, and can definitely see the difference. Full disclosure, the inside water bowls contain the rocks, but they also drink water from the bucket outside that does not contain the rocks, so the grass does change color, but does not turn brown from their pee like it used to. I will continue to use this product.
