I’ve been counting macros & looking for high protein snacks. People in my macros group all rave about this product, and coupled with high ratings on Amazon, I felt safe buying it even though I’ve never tried it.
Ugh, there’s a reason why I only buy things with free returns. I paid $25 for this gross thing!
I followed the instructions verbatim and it came out looking and tasting like paste. So disgusting.
I tried it a second time using water ( The first time I used almond milk ), and microwaving it longer, and the consistency was better but the taste was still really bad. It left a very gross, indescribable, artificial aftertaste in my mouth that lasted for a while. No maple flavor whatsoever.
It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when products say they have a maple flavor when there is none. I love maple and this was just gross. Fake artificial taste. Dry too.
The third time, I added peanut butter to kill the nasty taste. Even peanut butter couldn’t save it.
I’m only finishing them off cuz it was so expensive and I can’t return it. And it gives 10g of protein. But I’ll never buy this again.
I know I’m in the minority here, but consider yourself warned. If you wanna try, I strongly suggest buying a single pack in a grocery store first and tasting it since Amazon won’t accept returns for this.
