Genuine Flavor And Quality

My first exposure to Fish & Chips was 55 years ago in downtown San Francisco.

A gentleman with a pronounced East End accent leaned out of a hole in the wall cafe and inquired "Hey mate have you ever had real Fish & Chips?"

He served breaded Iceland Cod and handmade chips and a bottle of London Pub malt vinegar wrapped in a page of the London Times (which came from the San Francisco International Airport).

I never forgot that taste. Unfortunately Icelandic Cod has become very hard to find but I found Alaskan Cod to be excellent. I tried some "off brand" vinegar but Fish & Chips is very snooty about "the right stuff"...flavor and aroma is critical.

I get a monthly box of fish with cod, halibut, pollack, rockfish, and salmon from Wild Alaska, so, being a fish and chips fan malt vinegar is indispensable especially since I do the whole thing and make coleslaw from scratch. My coleslaw dressing recipe begins with dissolving honey in malt vinegar. almost every English pub I've eaten fish and chips in had this brand of malt vinegar on the table, so I was delighted though not surprised to see it offered on Amazon. I don't know if it was some lingering amnosia from the krunky virus, production method changes in this product, or just a Quality Assurance lapse, but It did not have the intense, complex flavor I was looking for, plus the % acidity seemed a little low. The last time I had malt vinegar on hand it was Heinz brand. It was much better than this, so next time I order malt vinegar I'm going with Heinz. That will determine if it is an amnosia problem.

watered down flavor, I just ordered a little better malt vinegar Sarsons, I would not buy this London pub again, I threw this away as I could not return as Amazon does not allow a return on food items, 21 years using prime and this a my 4 th review as this is a bad product

London Pub Malt Vinegar is just that, the tastiest malt vinegar and just what they served in the London pubs and the fish stalls. It's perfect on fish, drizzled on cole slaw and even on chips! I lived in England for 6 years and LOVED the fish and chips. The English put vinegar on the them. I tried the malt vinegar here and it just isn't the same. This product is the real deal, which makes a lot of difference when i make fish and chips here at home in the US.
