Just what I was looking for

We had been draping towels over our dogs crate to give him some peace and quite, which worked alright but didn't look very pretty. This crate cover is really just what I needed. The cover fits nicely, it is very easy to put on, has Velcro closures on all four corners and looks very nice in the living room. I'm postitve it, or when, it needs to be cleaned it will be very easy to wash. Before I purchased this crate cover I did a lot of web searching for a cover that would do what I needed and didn't cost $60 or more. I did not feel that it was necessary to buy a cover that had all kinds of designs, at a premium price. Solid black got less than $14 was right up my ally. Ok I was new to having a dog when I got the crate and cover and thought this was a goods set up. Not so much. The cover fits the crate perfectly but if you have a chewer , he will pull at it and tear at it and it will tear easily. This isn’t the biggest problem! As my chocolate lab grew from 6 weeks to 5 months, so did his breath output inside the crate at night. He came out of the crate one evening when I was going to take him for a 3am walk (I work 3rd shift and family puts him away earlier)and he smelled like MILDEW!! Now I thought he just got into something and was just dirty. I gave him a bath and dried him the best I could. I washed his bedding as well.... but it never really went away. In the next couple of weeks he developed a red bump rash all over his body. We went to the vet and got antibiotics and she asked if he got wet and didn't dry off.. Then I did the math. THIS COVER DOES NOT BREATHE! and like tents you'd use for camping in the early 80s where you'd wake up in the morning with condensation on the inside... This cover creates a moisture sauna!! This breeds bacteria and then the skin infection started. Its good for short periods but you can't use it for nightly bedtime... again…IT DOESNT BREATHE! and if he spills his water bowl hanging inside it makes the moisture problem worse! I now just use a cotton sheet.. Be careful!!

Good basic crate cover

Good, simple crate cover. Fit our crate perfectly. The sides Velcro together but it's not securely fastened to the crate itself. Puppy pulled the entire cover into his kennel while we were gone. Will use it on our other dog's kennel but do not recommend for blanket pullers/chewers!

Easy fix

It's a nice light, yet dark material, fits our 48" crate well (which was a different company's crate). The one thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the product is designed in a way that creates a cube by male and female velcro patches that attach the side panels to the front/back panel. What this ends up doing is covering all sides of the crate and thus the door won't open. If you want either the front or side door to open, only one half of the cover can be velcroed down. Which makes it less secure (though it lies on there pretty well). If you want to put your dog inside and shut the flap, it will velcro to the side paneling fine, but when you go to open it, there's the same level of pressure in the front and the back, so it's not a guarantee that the front will unvelcro and not the back, or at the very least that you won't pull off one or two from the back and make it look a bit disheveled.

To fix this, I simply made small incisions in the side panel hem that I then hooked onto the hooks that hold the side wall of the crate to the front. This seems to hold it much more securely and allows me to use the front flap much easier. It makes me think that this product would be so much better if they just had a wrap around velcro piece for at least the ends of the panels to hold it more in place.

Got it with the bed and cover. Duffy likes his home. 40 lb labradoodle. Big enough that he has plenty of room to get up and turn around. Sleeps in it at night with the door open. However it is not easy to collapse and then to open it again took longer than I thought it should have. Kind of had to force things in place. There is a handle but the position on receiving it did not make sense to had to relocate it. And the clip to hold it together in the collapsed position kept popping off. These things notwithstanding, I would buy again!

More durable than using a blanket

I'm one of those people who used a small blanket to cover a dog kennel. However, blankets tend to absorb odors and need to be regularly readjusted (odd considering the dog doesn't move it or the kennel). I finally decided to purchase two of these to cover our 2-door 24" wire crates.

First, if your dog is weird with sounds (like bags or crinkling paper), put this cover or his/her crate when they are out of the room. The packing itself is quiet (durable plastic, silent open technology) but the polyester cover itself, not so much. It's not fireworks loud but it makes enough of a noise to scare my two chicken shi$t dogs.

Sides velcro together. Pro- fastens quickly. Con- velcro is a little weak. it doesn't take much to come undone. Considering the cover is supposed to be washable, this velcro wouldn't hold up to more than one or two washing. However, if you don't plan on moving the crate around too often or washing it, the cover should last a while.

All in all, a great alternative to using a blanket to cover crates. Great price, durable material, and simple color designs.

Thin material but decent quality.

It’s not the most amazing item I’ve ever purchased nor is it anywhere near the worst. It is what is it - a thin fabric (feels like tent material) that velcros on each corner of my dog’s wire crate. (Midwest 36” crate with two doors)

I like that I don’t have to make sure a sheet completely covers the crate but there are gaps. My precious boy likes to peek his head out at the bottom of crate where I usually miss covering it completely. I noticed that this cover is slightly shorter than I’d like it to be. And slightly smaller than I thought - approximately 1/2” on the front/back.

I like that it is a thin material as I live in a state that gets (and stays) very warm and humid. Plus, this is for indoor use - I sincerely doubt it will get extremely cold inside during winter as my husband likes to have the heat on....a lot.

Since I just received this dog crate cover today, I cannot attest to its durability but it seems to be adequately made: the velcro adheres nicely to each other keeping the sides closed.

Considering this wasn’t very expensive, I definitely think it is worth what I paid (under $20).

I have two sibling boxer/mastiff/pug - we really don't know - year old pups. They sleep in a large crate and get cranky if I stay up watching tv past 8:30. I put this on their crate and it was miraculous! They didn't bother me, slept late...which meant I slept late...and woke up to them ripping this apart. It lasted not even 24 hours. I would highly suggest this, it also really looks great - but if you have chewers, just know that this might not last long.

A Good Quality Crate Cover

We bought this crate cover for my mom's dog's crate. She needed to make his crate more "den like" and also possibly provide a little more privacy and warmth for him, as he is in his crate all day while she is at work. He is a 55 pound mixed breed dog. This cover has turned out to be really great. The material is maybe a little too thin but it still works and has done everything we have wanted it to do. It fits the crate perfectly, slipped on in just a minute or two and has held up well for probably two years now. It also cleans easily and has stayed in good shape. The only thing we would change is to make the material maybe a little thicker. Overall a good crate cover with a fair price.

When we first got our puppy we were clueless dog owners that quickly figured out he sleeps best when the crate is totally covered. After a few weeks of using beach towels, we decided to get something a little more stylish. The measurements worked really well for the Crate we purchased at Petsmart (or Petco? they all blend together). I highly recommend this product to dress up the crate a bit.

My only complaint is there are seams in some odd places. Really not a deal breaker, but it just seemed a little strange. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of this.

Great for indoor use

Nice decorative covers for indoor use, not too thick - so dogs won’t get hot. I purchased two, one 42 inch and one 48 inch and they have lasted for months, through multiple washes. However one of my dogs did manage to pull a corner in his kennel and tear it up, and tore the string that runs down the side of the kennel cover all the way out. So they are not the most durable, don’t recommend if you have chewers. Also don’t recommend for pups still being potty trained as the cotton material can hold smells, requiring daily washing.

True to size. Nice Velcro corners. Fits the kennel perfect. I gave it 4 stars because the material. I knew it was going to be thin.. The best way I can describe it is like the bags that you put your canvas camping chairs in. Not the chair itself, the bag you put the chair in. You get what you pay for so my expectations weren't high. It does what I need it to. I'm just afraid to move it because I think it will snag easily.
