5.0 out of 5 starsMiracle workers!!
Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2018
I have literally never written a review for anything in my entire life, but I feel compelled to share my experience with this product. I do not understand exactly what voodoo is behind these little patches, but I am not exaggerating when I say they are straight up miracle workers!! I’ve never been blessed with amazing skin, but until recently I took for granted the fact that the only real issue I had was a minor jawline breakout every few months around my cycle. As a 34 year old woman, I thought a pimple every few months was annoying, but was always able to cover it up with a little bit of concealer and move on with my day. I never had a real need for any medicated creams or special products. UNTIL a few months ago when I weaned my nine month old baby, and hell in the form of hormones entered my life. Along with my other less visible symptoms came the most horrid and painful case of cystic acne that there ever was. I woke up one morning with one lesion (not just a pimple), and by bedtime that same night I had two more. By the next morning it had spread over my entire face. I was actually terrified that I had some sort of staph infection. I visited my doctor, and was put on antibiotics to no avail. I was taking ibuprofen all day long for the pain. I went into panic mode and spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on new makeup and every skin care product and every prescription cream known to mankind. Nothing even touched this acne. I was beside myself. I am not being dramatic when I say that I could hardly look in the mirror. I canceled plans. I was embarrassed showing up to work, even contemplating calling in sick some days because it was so bad. I could never have understood the emotional drain that this kind of acne could be until it happened to me. At some point, because the chemical products weren’t working, I decided to try a more natural route. I cut dairy out of my diet. I tried essential oils. I practiced oil pulling every morning. I drank apple cider vinegar. I’m telling you, I was devoted. And, the acme barely budged. I considered going on Accutane, but it didn’t feel like a good fit for the fact that I’d like to have another baby at some point in the relatively near future. So I’m telling you, I was feeling totally hopeless. Then about a week ago, browsing Amazon in bed wondering if there was anything left in the world that I hadn’t tried, I came across these little patches. I wasn’t that excited about them, but they didn’t cost much and they were indeed something different, I figured it was worth a shot. They arrived Tuesday and I put them on overnight. Woke up Wednesday morning and was both impressed and disgusted by what I peeled off. My skin wasn’t irritated and the redness was reduced, but the acne was still very much present. I wore them to bed again on Wednesday night, and woke up the next morning to find that for the first time in months, my skin appeared to be healing. I was so excited that I actually almost cried. When I got home from work that afternoon I washed my face and was so encouraged that I put more patches on and wore them around the house for the rest of the day and evening. I am not kidding when I tell you that I took them off before bed to find that my acne, which had completely withstood the test of every dermatologist recommendation for months, was all but gone. GONE! I could not believe my eyes. I cannot tell you what an insane feeling of gratitude and relief I have for having found this product. If you are suffering with acne, do not hesitate for even one moment to buy these little suckers!

After doing research about pimple patches, I wanted to try them, especially this one with tea tree oil. I have been using tea tree oil on my face for about 6 months and it (in combination with a Vitamin K serum) has really kept my rosacea under control. I needed something for the bumps. These only cover the bumps with plastic circles and have no antibacterial action to reduce the swelling. Waste of money!

2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not suited for all skin types.

I bought these because of Buzzfeed reviews constantly gushing over them. And I thought, "Why not, this might help my occasional acne."

Before we carry on, I feel it's necessary to explain my skin. I have very pale, dry skin. Not flaky dry, but no oily sheen and no need wash a hundred times a day. I don't tend to get those little whitehead pimples since I figured out sugar causes acne. No sir, the only pimples I get are those huge, deep, painful, inflamed red monsters. I thought that perhaps these patches would be perfect for the occasional monster.

Nope. I tried them out for three days. A lot of people post pictures of these patches with all the white spots on them, gushing over how they pull the pimple out. I don't think that's the case, I think the oil in your skin just swells the patch. When I would wear one of these overnight, I'd pull it off in the morning to find that the spot where the red pimple was had no change at all, it was still clear and pristine. However, there were tiny white dots all around it, presumably where my skin was making oil.

I tried patches on the same pimple for three days, and always the same result. The spot in the patch where the pimple was came off perfectly clear, while tiny white dots circled the edges of the patch. To make matters worse, my skin is sensitive, so the adhesive on these left a huge red circle on my skin, around the pimple all day. I tried multiple spots. One of those big red monsters that was nearly ready to pop, then two who had no head. Same result. Irritated, red skin, ineffective patch.

Hey, if they work for other skin types, that's awesome. But for me, a little tube of zit zapping cream applied a few times a day works better and is more affordable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Update: found better...these have consequences.

2nd Update: Why do sellers include a scan code with "Surprise!" On it, and when you go to scan it... the link is expired or broken? It's almost like a little bonus you get all excited about, maybe a free trial or a coupon, but then BLAM, NOTHING! Heart broken and shattered you realize they don't really value your purchase as much as they said they did, or they'd have kept the link active. I've been buying this brand for 3years? Would have been nice to have even one of these active. I don't buy them as often as let brands due to the price, but they're definitely one of the easier ones to remove from the sheets. I just repurchased again since my skin had changed once more, to see if they're any better with leaving dry patches or not. We will see.

Update: Deducting stars for a couple of reasons. Price when realizing I can buy another brand that has over 100 for just $1 more, and no smaller sizes, that I actually prefer better. 40 of them REALLY doesn't get you far when you need to change them every 2hrs. The other ones I found I can wear 8+hrs. These also tend to leave your skin in need of some serious TLC (Aquaphor for 3 days), from drying it out. Dry patches are not much better than pimples when applying makeup.

Did purchase their large square ones. Have only used 1 1/2 so far...may continue to use those for large areas around period time, but they are still pretty pricey for 8 squares.

These are awesome. You get 40 for such a small price that it makes them reasonable, and I like the sizes. I tried three different brands, at three different price points...one was extremely expensive compared to these and had micro needles.

Out of all three brands, these are my favorite I think (although I think one brand that's just a bit cheaper than these works just a bit better, they're hard to remove from the sheet without messing them up).

These don't have that issue. Worth the extra $1 or so to me since my fingers don't work all the time correctly and the simplicity is worth it for me. Plus they come in a resealable pack unlike the 2nd runner up which is a bandaid looking package that you rip open. Don't get me wrong, those bandaid packaged ones work great (and have a tint and texture that hides them a bit better), but there's not enough difference between them for me.

I'll take easy to remove and apply and reseal thank you.

2.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work and not for sensitive skin
Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2021

So I mainly bought these for my kids. I've got three teens and one soon to be teen. However, with masks, I' get a clogged pore every now and then and need to use something to help heal it.

Please see the picture. The blemish was relatively small, and not at all red. Slight discoloration. After I took off the patch, this is what it looked like. It was terrible red, and somewhat painful on the skin around it where the patch had been.

This is NOT the product. Firstly, I want to tout the pros.
1. It's almost translucent. You can't really see it. I wouldn't feel bad at all going out and about with this, even without covering it up. My kids feel differently however, they like to only wear them at night.
2. It does stick and won't come off until you take it off.

Now the cons:
1. Its really sticky. Pulling it off needs to be a gentle process.
2. It leaves a terrible red ring where the entire patch was, and is sensitive.
3. It didn't actually do anything to help heal the blemish.

Curious Customer
2.0 out of 5 stars Will not get rid of pimples/redness, but helps avoid picking
Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2019

So the product doesn't actually say anywhere that it will get rid of pimples, so my two star review might be a bit harsh. However, when I first looked up this product and saw all of the reviews saying it was some sort of miracle cure for acne, I was all for trying it and hoped for the best. After putting it on a few pimples overnight I noticed zero difference, and was resigned to that fact that this was just another product with misleading reviews. However, after a few more tries (going through about 10 of the patches), I finally realized what the true purpose of these patches is.

Here is the exact situation in which these are useful: When you see a volcano starting to form on your face, and it's at that point where the lava is just basically at the surface, that is prime pimple-popping season. You know you're not supposed to.. you know it leads to scarring.. but how can you resist that popping hideous juicy volcano?? It's at this moment that you should plop one of these stickers on. You can poke at the pimple all day long and it won't be bad for you because the sticker protects it. And what's even better is that when you do take it off, that white lava usually gets dragged out with it, requiring no popping on your part! Hopefully this means no scarring, and no spreading of the bacteria on the surrounding skin.

That sounds nice and all, but considering that is a very specific situation, and that the stickers don't help with any other stage of pimples I couldn't give these stickers 5 stars. Especially because my review probably won't be read by most but my star rating will go into the average. I haven't noticed any decrease in the incidence of pimples occurring either.

Overall I'd say that these are not a total waste, but you need to know when to use them. And if you have successfully weaned yourself off the habit of picking (good for you!), then these won't be useful to you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bullseye on your face--not invisible or effective
Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2019

I gave these a fair shot and tried for 2 weeks. Considering it was great timing as my hormonal acne did flare up a little I applied these overnight as directed. I had tried Rael brand of these hydrocolloid patches before this brand and I think I am going back to them! These were good only in the sense it was much easier to handle them ( and not ruin it by getting them all squished by mistake if you pinch them the wrong way--these things are so small and sensitive!) since these are larger. Made it easier to center them too. BUT each time I woke up to see the "results" all I saw was a raised area the size of the sticker (temporarily, it did go down within a half hour) so its like a bullseye on your face. What they claim for it to be "invisible" while you wear it is a lie because I saw these and so did my Fiance who noticed it right away! It is good as an alternative for messy spot treatment creams but still not the best. I didn't try the rectangular pads because they seemed to be too much but if it happens with the small circles I can only imagine it doing the same on a much larger surface area! I thought I would get more for my money with these being a 40 count instead of 24 but really unless you plan on using all the sizes, its not worth it. I don't think its even worth it since cystic acne barely gets taken care of on the 1st try. Its almost like it covers it, lets it surface with all the nastyness and the next day you have a whitehead to scrape away instead of it being absorbed into the patch. Just disappointed overall. Much better off getting the Rael brand.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great , not worth it
Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2020

Disappointed by all the great reviews. This product is ok but definitely not great and not worth the price. I’ve tried many acne patches and they all have their quirks... Rael brand is currently my fave though they only have one size. These are double the price and are worse.

Cons:
- they don’t stick well !! ( my biggest pet peeve) other brands have better adhesion. More adhesion = more gunk removed.

- I find the sizes too big for the usual pimple ( with the exception of the smallest size) You get 3 different sizes and I like having the option but they aren’t useful to me.

- These dry out my skin. So the ingredients in this patch are meant to dry out your zit and remove the infection. However, I find it dries out my skin too much so that it doesn’t heal as quick as it should. The plain unmedicated patches work better for my skin.

I didn't feel like they did anything to diminish zits or spots as advertised. Save your money. They did stay on overnight and were easily removed, but having used 2/3 of the pack over a month I never noticed a difference from when I put them on to when I took them off.

Update: seller offered a full refund and a free package to try them again. I accepted the refund but not the free product, because I don't see a point in using something that doesn't work for me. In all fairness, I've tried another brand and those don't really work for me either. Maybe they're all a gimmick.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what reviews stated and that I needed.
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2019

I've been blessed all my life with not ever having teenage acne or breakouts, but a wonderful complexion. Since I've gotten older, however, my skin has gotten drier, requiring the usage of both an oil and cream moisturizer. Although my skin is moistened, the regimen has unfortunately left me with whiteheads. Several reviews erroneously stated that these patches remove whiteheads. I assure you, they most certainly do not! I put these patches on and left them on all night. The next day, I removed one to check if the whitehead was either diminished or gone, but it wasn't; therefore, I left them on for several more hours. Still, no difference whatsoever! Do not waste your money on these if, like me, you are looking to eliminate whiteheads. It's sad that people lie in these reviews and cause people to waste their money, so I'm sharing my honest experience with you so the same doesn't happen to you.

EDIT: I still stand by my review, but the company saw my review and offered a refund since I was not satisfied with their product, which I thought was really cool of them. I very much appreciated their customer service!

My mom and I used about half of the bag before we decided to give up. Only once did it actually pull any white gunk out for me, never for my mom. It really dried out our skin (which is probably what it's supposed to do to get the stuff out? idk) but it typically made the appearance worse than what it looked like prior to application. We were usually left with dry, bright red circles where the patches were that stayed for OVER A WEEK! They were really irritating and were pretty hard to cover with makeup. I will say that for me, they helped with the pain that came with some big zits, but I'd definitely take the pain over the red spots I was left with. My mom didn't get any pain relief from them. We both have good skin and just get the occasional very painful zit that doesn’t necessarily come to the surface. Maybe they just didn’t work well with our skin or the kind of zits we tend to get... not sure.

I purchase something very similar to this at Walmart, 30 individual dots made of a silicone like material for less than $3.00 they worked really well, they stuck to my skin even over moisturizers and I could tell a difference the next morning on the acne spot. I could also tell on the dot it’s self where is it pulled stuff from the zit overnight. It was a large white section that was a harder textures than the rest of the dot. These were very noticeable on my skin, was a very strange material, it’s made of it’s almost like a thick cellophane, It moved around a lot. I did not notice a difference the next morning on the acne spot , There was a very small white section on the dot showing or it had pulled stuff out, not near as much is the cheaper ones from Walmart. I will not be repurchasing
