Honestly, for the price it's not a bad deal.

I mean if you're going to buy product like this you likely have money to spend. This item is no way essential and just a cool accessory for the car.

It works great though. Fairly easy set up with the Amazon Alexa App. If you don't have a Bluetooth radio the wires can be a bit messy but it listens well and gets me exactly what I need.

Not groundbreaking technology, but you will get what you expect when buying this product for sure.

Mine was brand new. Never could get it to work. I also bought the echo look, that I loved. ($200), they just shut it down. I’m not investing in anymore of these things. None of my alexas understand ANYTHING anyway. They can’t even google answers to questions. All they know is celebrities birthdays, and can play the complete opposite song you ask for. I’ve gotten to the point where I only ask for temp and time. I have almost every product they came out with. Who just tosses a 2 year device and app that I paid $200 for? At least let me keep the camera. I guess none of their Alexa items are going over as well as they thought. JUST WORK, THATS ALL WERE ASKING!!

High resource usage

The product works as described. I returned mine because of excessive data usage. Driving in my car one day, not using navigation or listening to music, burned through just under 100 mb. I asked a question or two and saved something to my to-do list. Nothing data intensive at all. It was basically not used. This occured over a few different days. It also drained my phone battery quickly if the phone was not charging. I turned off location in the app and the battery drain was lessened but this limited the capabilities of my Echo Auto. It no longer knew my location to give specific answers. It also broke other routines for other devices that used location as a trigger. When I removed the Echo Auto from my setup and turned location back on, everything was back to normal. An idle device should use negligable data and power.

This adds a bit more hands off capability than using my bluetooth phone connection and the Amazon Music app. It will open Waze and navigate and it's nice to just tell it to play music without having to go to the app on my phone. It recognizes songs and artists pretty well, but it is absolutely god awful at "hearing" place names correctly. Trying to tell it to navigate to a specific location is nothing but an exercise in frustration. My wife was laughing her ass off on my 20th attempt to tell Alexa to navigate to a specific place. It also doesn't operate through the phone apps, so if you tell it to play something on Amazon Music or Audible, it will go through your phone's wireless plan and stream it, rather than play the copy that is resident on your phone. Could be an issue if you have limited data. All in all, I'll probably keep it in the car, but only use it for playing music from Amazon Music. For 19 bucks, it might be worth it, but it's negligible. I would never pay full price for one of these.

I love my other ECHO products and don't have any issues with them. I hate ECHO auto. it works about 25% of the time, just enough to get in the way of other phone and car functions. it loses its network connection every 5 minutes, making it impossible to give Alexa instructions or ask questions. then, when i turn the car off and resume normal usage, guess what? no notifications. given the size of the product, it should be much more functional. it was only $20, so I thought it was worth a try, but it's not. a good FM transmitter will out-perform the echo auto for roughly the same price.

This would have been a great product, but the way it is implemented makes it practically useless. It keeps disconnecting / losing connection - and it is not a problem with my phone as all other bluetooth devices work fine. I find it much easier to invoke Siri to play stuff on my phone rather than use this alexa device. I really wanted it to work well, as the speech recognition is far superior, but the fact that the connection between the device and the phone is not stable at all makes it more of a distraction and inconvenience.

It doesn't do anything automatically. If I'm running errands I have to say "Alexa play...." every single time I turn on my car. That is super annoying. Then a lot of the time it doesn't do what you tell it. "Alexa play Bob Dylan playlist on spotify." "Playing Bob Dylan on Amazon music. "
