How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

1.0 out of 5 starsdon't tust what you are typing on thi keyboard
Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2019
This keyboard was terrific when I first started using it. I liked the touch and some of the special features (putting cmptr in sleep mode), and the heavy weight of the board. After using it for about a week, I went into my email and my email program started acting strange in a scary way. I closed it and went to a secure web page and tried to sign on about 20 times. The curser was not moving to where it should. I could not open this web page. I then noticed that I had about 20 Google homepage screens open. I cloosed them and then shut down and re-started the computer. I entered my computer password many many times over, and the computer would not accept it and I couldn't re-start it. I spent hours thinking about this, and when I fianly connected my OLD keyboard, everything worked just fine and all the problems were gone.
This is not what I would call a friendly product. I tried to report this to someone at Amazon, but all I got was happy talk and no real concern or comprehension of the problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unique peripherals
Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2019

This review is typed on the keyboard/mouse under review. The receiver is 4 feet from the keyboard, with fresh batteries. This foreword took more than 5 minutes to type without error. The following section is unedited for keyboard connection errors after this point to give you an idea of what you could encounter.

Combo worked perfectly for the first few minuts, after which both woked intermittently. Befor tossing them and reverting to the reliale wired version, I tried the age-old "hit the keyboard really hard with a fist" tecnique. This resolved the issue fra few minutes. The efficacy of the repar corrates to how hard you hit the keyboard. Hitting it hard enough to expel the batteries and eject the enter key cosistently improves the connection.

The mouse suffers the sme issu with persistent dropouts. Thrwing it at the floor is ver effectiv.

5 stars for the upper body workout, 1 star for use as computer peripherals and 4 strs for durablity under extrme abuse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Acts like the CAPS LOCK is on when it isn't
Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019
Style: Keyboard and MouseVerified Purchase
I just purchased this keyboard (July 2019). I liked the design, weight, and how it typed. However, shortly after I started using it, I noticed that it would randomly act like the CAPS LOCK key was on, but it wasn't. As I would type, especially a password to log into a website, it would begin typing like I was holding the SHIFT key down. Lowercase letters were capitalized and when I would hit SHIFT key, then it would type a lowercase letter. I checked the CAPS LOCK repeatedly but it was off. When entering a password online, I was thinking I accidently hit the CAPS LOCK key but when I would hit the CAPS LOCK, the password field would warn me that I just turned on CAPS LOCK. Yet, when I would turn off the CAPS LOCK, it was still typing capital letters, and if I typed a number, it would type !@#$%^&*() for the corresponding "shift" key character option, just like you were pressing the shift key. I could reboot and it would work for a while. Sometimes I didn't have to reboot and it would start working again. I was using the latest version of Windows 10 Professional Dell XPS 2720.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible. SO terrible.
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2021

Yup, it's a keyboard and mouse. That's where it ends.

1. Keyboard is BIG and HEAVY. I was ok with this.
2. Mouse is cheap, light and slippery as heck due to whatever plastic they use. Amazing how bad this makes controlling it for just a little slipperiness.
3. Keyboard feels real solid and has all the buttons I was looking for. Quiet keys. Nice feel.
4. Total piece of junk as far as function! Keys began randomly re-assigning themselves to whatever they wanted a week or two in. Unless watching EVERY SINGLE KEYSTROKE, this keyboard began deleting, moving, copying, closing... and a whole host of other real bad things at its whim. The need to restart the computer (Windows 10, all current updates, Intel i7), unplug the USB and reinstall the batteries was about all that could be done to get it to work for a few minutes.

This clearly shows it must be a software issue, right? Either way this is unacceptable and ridiculous.
Returning this and petitioning for my Assurion warranty money returned. I do not want another one of these.

This is brand new--received it last week--but the mouse is already broken. It spazzes out frequently, acting like I am holding down a click when I'm not or acting like I'm right clicking when I'm not. Thought it might be that the batteries it came with were nearly dead so I changed them. Did not resolve issue. Just a complete lemon. This is absolutely wreaking havoc on my work, deleting chunks of text in documents, sending emails before I've finished them, rearranging cells in spreadsheets. I have to constantly switch the mouse off just to get it to release the click. It's unbelievably frustrating and as soon as I can get another, I will be smashing it with a hammer and setting the pieces on fire.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for daily use

This is a nicely laid-out keyboard, and the mouse is a good size and weight. I like the function buttons chosen for both. I've never had a connectivity issue, and the battery life is good.

However, the quality is poor.

I bought this 6 months ago, and use it every day for work.

-I've never had a mouse start to die before I've even worn a fingerprint onto the left button before. It is erratically unresponsive to clicks.

-The keyboard is also starting to fail. Random buttons will suddenly repeattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt while I'm typing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Never Worked

Item came in a box that had a ton of tape over and around it, that should have been my first red flag. Mouse did not have nano receiver, I looked several times in the box as well as the mouse and key board. Customer service had me buy another mouse that had a nano receiver in it as they do not provide replacement parts. Second red flag. Bought fresh batteries for the mouse and key board. Put my new nano receiver in the USB port. Nothing. Restarted computer, nothing. I had to set it aside and use my old equipment. Now it is too late for return. How frustrating as I really like the recesed keys.

In less than a year, the mouse battery compartment door latch broke. Amazon replaced without issue
On the new mouse, within a year the battery compartment door broke again. The product is outside warranty period, so I chose to just live with it.
Now the mouse has developed a problem. On the pc, more and more frequently the left mouse button click does not register for several 10s of seconds, or it sticks in pressed mode, or responds with multiple clicks/drag after the delay; during the unresponsive times the mouse pointer remains active but scroll wheel does not register.. all leading to unpredictable PC operation and frustration. This may happen back to back and other times I may go 15-30min before it happens again. It has become a major work interruption!! I am well outside warranty period. So unsure if I have a solution.
My previous Logitech kbd mouse combo -on another PC has worked for 5+ years without issues.

I like the feel of the Amazon kbd keys, but the mouse is such poor quality. I am sorry to say, I will not buy this product again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Communication between mouse/keyboard and computer lags
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2022
Style: Keyboard and MouseVerified Purchase
I am not a tech person but I know how something is supposed to work. I should not have to click the mouse several times, hover away and then back, just to get something to pop up that I click on. I put the mouse aside and went back to the wired mouse I thankfully kept. Next; the keyboard. I am not adept enough to look up at what I am typing, so imagine my surprise when I look up and there is gibberish because the keyboard missed so many typed letters. Back to the wired keyboard and surprise, I type in complete sentences. If not too late, I would return, this is garbage and I am disappointed in the poor quality from Amazon on this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Keyboard is totally defective
Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2020
Style: Keyboard and MouseVerified Purchase
Many of the keys are constantly sticking or not working entirely when you press them including the "Caps Lock", "Shift", "i", and most numbered keys to the point that it is completely impossible to type out a complete sentence with proper spelling and dictation. I am not sure if the product was manufactured and sent defective or if this was delivered second hand but I am unable to work using this keyboard and it is a huge inconvenience. The keyboard has the look and feel of well-made quality materials but it does not function correctly at all. The mouse also is very slow using the scroll wheel that I would regularly use to scroll up & down and zoom in and out of documents.

This is the first time I've ever had any issues with an Amazon Basics product and I am very disappointed.
