I like to bake (mostly desserts). Most desserts require vanilla extract. Vanilla extract is STUPID expensive. Imitation vanilla extract is hit or miss and not as good.

While I am NOT a professional on any level, I cannot tell the difference between this stuff and pure vanilla extract. If you're like me and don't want to pay $8 for 2oz of pure extract but also don't want the crap 4oz .88 cent bottle, TRY THIS STUFF! It also smells heavenly.

not clear product isn't vanilla, but not bad

When I bought, I thought I was buying a vanilla extract (imitation). I didn't realize it was something different (BAKING extract), which includes a cocoa flavor. The product itself tastes good in what I've used it for, but not when I'm trying to make vanilla cupcakes or buttercream. My fault, I guess for not realizing it was not what I thought it was.

With the price of vanilla skyrocketing (along with everything else), I find this to be an acceptable substitution for vanilla. I bake a lot and a 2oz bottle of pure vanilla lasts only a few weeks. Despite the intense chocolate odor of this product, the finished baked product, whether cakes or cookies, tastes very much the same as with using pure vanilla.

With the hint of chocolate in here, this is an amazing alternative to store-bought vanilla. Doubt I'll ever use plain vanilla again. Smells amazing, tastes phenomenal, and doesn't add color. So good!

The chocolate overtones may limit what you can put it in somewhat, but for the price of organic vanilla, I’ll take it!! I can always substitute organic almond extract if the chocolate mixed with vanilla wouldn’t be a good combo. It’s a nice flavor.

This has a strong but not overwhelming vanilla flavor. It is well balanced and added true vanilla flavor to my baking. Using the amount indicated in the recipe instead of needing to add extra makes it worth the little more in cost. Even my family noticed the difference!
