This product is an egregious breach of my privacy which is not noted in the description on Amazon.com

In order to install the app, it wants:
-access to my call logs and location information.
-access to my music, photos, and other files.
-admin access to reorder running apps and startup apps.
-admin access to control battery functions and prevent sleep.

More disturbingly, it says that in order to run, it wants:
-permission to use the camera at any time without my confirmation.
-permission to use the microphone to record at any time without my confirmation.
-permission to connect and disconnect from wi-fi, and transmit/received data.

None of the above are required in order to talk to a Bluetooth enabled device. This is supposed to be just a light bulb, it shouldn't need such privileges in order to function.

This little bulb is so cool! Some of the features I don't think it accurately describes in the add is the timer feature. You can program it too turn on and off at certain times. We have ours set to slowly turn on as it gets to be night time, and then turn itself off usually when were in bed.

The light also has a ton of settings that will strobe, or transition from one color to another. And the mic feature is really cool, if you play any music it changes colors to the beat which is actually pretty rad.

This is an amazing product and in many ways better than my Hue lights. In just a few small steps (download the app, turn on the light, add the light, change the light to your desired color), I got my new Govee light working without issues. There are "scenes" that allow you to rotate through a predetermined set of colors.

Although I cannot control the preset scenes, it appears that I can create my own by first registering for an account. I then tried creating one of the three types of scenes for switching (the light on or off), RGB color (I assume for changing colors), and "arming" (I don't know what this is), however, I wasn't able to get very far with this as my device wasn't recognized as a valid device for these scene creation methods. It doesn't matter, though, because for the measly price of $12, it does exactly what I want it to do, which is shine a color light to set a mood. To think that I spent over $100 on this kind of lightbulb back in 1997!

The app is easy to use and the lightbulb appears to work right out of the box. I recommend this product wholeheartedly!

Wow! I mean.. buying these bulbs for $15 bucks a piece is MUCH less expensive than $45 from HUE. Sure the iHoment app doesn't let you control them all at once, however the developers say they are working on it and the app is serviceable regardless.

I'm a big fan of HUE bulbs, however these bulbs not only came nicely wrapped, but they feel and look the same as the A19 units. I don't mind the bluetooth connection as I'm using these OUTSIDE and sometimes the wifi range for my HUE bulbs won't reach and they therefore, wouldn't work. This seems to have a bluetooth range of around 20ft.

Lights are nice and bright and dimmable via/app. The camera mode is great because you can take a photo of something and apply it to the light for a "custom" color. We picked these up for Halloween this year and they've worked great. Would buy more!

Ok so we are on lockdown for Covid-19 so I’m buying things like I actually have the money to. I bought ONE of these bastards to put above my bar. I have now bought 10 because I’m addicted and had to put one in every ceiling light in my basement.

The only things I don’t dig is how they don’t work with Alexa and you can only pair 6 together. With that said, I love that you can use the app.

I started purchasing all Govee products because I control them in one app. The music sensitive lights are AWESOME. I installed them under my bar and now I feel like I’m at a rave in 2004 again.

Just get them. But buy them in the 2 packs because you save $10. Don’t bother getting just one because you’ll be back to buy more.

Honestly, I didn't think this was going to work. I didn't really believe that a company I had never heard of would only charge me $10 for exactly what I wanted. However, sometimes it can be nice tonbe wrong.

The installation took seconds because it'a literally a loght bulb. The colors are bright and beautiful, but it also does white light amazingly. You will be required to download an app to control the loght bulb, but you should have assumed that since light bulns don't have buttons on them and nobody likes physical remotes anymore. The bulb uses bluetooth to communicate with the application, but the range is fairly short so that is slightly unfortunate. The bulb can do literally any color so at $10 I recommend this to literally anyone in need of a light bulb. Brightness is also adjustable so don't worry about it being blinding if you want something a bit more dim. Basically it's a bulb that does it all for $10, there's not a whole lot to say. Make sure to check compatibility but that's really the only thing you need to worry about.
