5.0 out of 5 starsA LIFE SAVER for carpal tunnel issues!
Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2018
I'm a writer and an aerialist (the "flying ghostwriter" lol), so I am SUPER hard on my hands and wrists. Therefore having the best ergonomic mouse I can find is not even optional. I realized recently that the one I had was just not cutting it when after working for only a short period of time on my computer, I'd be in pain. So I took to one of my entrepreneurial Facebook groups with lots of writers/website people/graphic designers/other heavy mouse users and asked for a recommendation for the best ergonomic mouse. Literally EVERYONE said this one! And after using it for only a week, I can tell you that they were 100% right. I've still been keeping my regular computer habits but with some exceptions (crazy work days), I am hand/wrist pain-free. I think it's because this is a larger mouse that completely fits my hand, plus the handy little thumb rest for alignment. I have no idea. I just know this thing is a life saver!

1.0 out of 5 starsNot a fan of this mouse.
Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018
Upgraded from a very old Performance MX mouse that started having issues, and I'm very disappointed with my experience so far with this mouse in Windows 10.

Ergonomically this mouse was not designed for my hand. The palm/knuckle section of the mouse sits very high, and feels awkward. The back/forward buttons are placed in a very awkward position that almost requires me to move my hand to get at them, I can't just roll my thumb over them anymore.

The worst issue I've been running into is with the "logitech options" software and it's pointer speed settings. Even at the highest speed the mouse is VERY slow. The only workaround I've found for this is to shut off the logitech software in task manager and set the mouse speed in "mouse properties" in the windows control panel (if you do not shut off the logitech software it will overwrite your settings). If you opt to shut off the Logitech software it will disable functionality like the middle button click, back/forward buttons, and the horizontal scroll wheel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Liked it so much I bought a second one
Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018

I bought one of these for my home office about a year ago. I work from home once a week with a laptop + docking station setup. The mouse is very comfortable to use, the batteries last seemingly forever (working one day a week, I've had to charge it maybe 4 or 5 times a year), and I love the auto-toggle scroll wheel and programmable thumb wheel. I have big, "meaty" hands, so the large size and contoured shape of this mouse is essential for me.

I liked this mouse so much that I recently bought a second one and brought it in to use at my workstation in the office the other 4 days of the week. I'd had a previous generation "Performance Mouse MX" there for several years. That was comfortable and still worked, but the battery was weakening to the point I had to charge it at least every other day. Rather than replace the cheap, off-the-shelf battery, I decided to treat myself to the same model mouse at both work locations and bought another MX Master. I know there's a newer model out, but I tried them both in a local big-box electronics store before buying the first one, and I found the in-hand feel of this model to be superior and I didn't need any of the new features of the more expensive 2S.

I work in IT by day and I'm a casual gamer by night, so I'm picky about and hard on my gear. Logitech has never let me down and they're the only brand I even look at anymore for mice, keyboards, and headsets.

tl;dr: This is by far my favorite mouse that I've ever used for non-gaming purposes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Deal

Longing for this for years and finally got it on Black Friday as a gift for myself.
Have to say, this is the best mouse I ever had.
I used to work with Logitech G Pro, which got RGB light and DPI switch. It’s good but it’s wired.
Since I spend lots of time working on two systems simultaneously, I really need a mouse to work cross platform. And this MX master is a perfect solution.
It uses Bluetooth + 2.4 G for wireless connection and switch between devices effortlessly.
The ergonomic shape perfectly matches my hand palm, and my thumb can finally find a place to rest on.
I think the exterior is mostly plastic, but the painted color and shape makes it looks (and feels) expensive.
Another thing I really like about is the electromagnetic hovering middle button. When activated it could literally spin on FOREVER, which is soooo cool. With a click you can turn it off and back to ratcheting mode, with more precision.
Overall, Great Job Logitech!

2.0 out of 5 stars Major design flaws
Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2018

Good news is I was able to replace this mouse with the Logitech M720 Triathlon.

I work with 2 laptops and 3 screens. Bought this mouse and the K850 keyboard to quickly switch between laptops/screens. Ran into some design issues with this mouse:

1. The button to switch laptops is on the bottom of the mouse so you can't quickly switch on the fly. You have to turn the mouse over and press the button with other hand every time you want to swap devices. Other Logitech Flow mice such as the M720 Triathlon have the button on the top within easy reach.

2. This is a big mouse (palm design) and pretty heavy. I prefer a smaller mouse that's also better for travel. The M720 Triathlon is smaller and lighter.

3. Laser didn't respond well to my hard mouse pad

4. The gesture button is nearly impossible to press. It was so hard that I didn't even know it was there. Trying to program commands with this button was futile.

What I liked about this mouse was the power supply. You can recharge without having to replace AA batteries. Wish more mice were like this.

TIP: If you're using a Logitech Flow mouse, install the Flow software first and then connect the mouse via Bluetooth. I did it the other way around and had to reconnect my mouse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Having an MIT degree doesn't mean you know what you are talking about

I saw some one star review from someone who claims they are from "MIT" saying how horrible this mouse is. Let me set the records straight. This mouse is AWESOME. I am a Network Engineer and I do IT for a living. Let me tell you this mouse has some very handy features that make task switching much easier for someone who needs to go from one task to another OR one desktop to another. I love the gesture button so much because it give this mouse an extra layer of functionality that you would not get with any other mouse. The best part is that this mouse is completely customizable. If you don't like the features out of the box then download the software and change it to your liking. Also the battery life is REDICULOUSLY good on this mouse. If someone is complaining about the "battery life" then I have no clue what they are talking about. I use this mouse a lot and it's been two weeks owning this mouse I have not charged it up and the battery is STILL above 50%. All I am saying is that as much as I can say I am a Network Engineer which is true some Joe Blow can come in her and claim they are MIT and talk all this trash about this mouse. It really isn't that bad unless you are trying to find things that are bad. And even then at the end of the day those are still OPINIONS. But let's say we are going with opinions at the very least I've given you a very detailed reason why this mouse is worth your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value for money! Get this if you don't want to pay the full amount of the MX3
Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2020

Like many others during 2020, I was looking to upgrade my work from home set up. I've wanted a Logitech MX mouse for a long time but was pretty turned off by the higher price of 100+ for the new Master mx3.

In comes this original MX. I came across it during my product research and saw that it was going for around 60 dollars which I thought was really reasonable considering it basically has most of the features the new MX3 has.

Been really happy with my purchase in my 1.5 month daily usage of this!

Pros:
- Great ergonomic feel. While I would have like it to be a bit more tiled up like the new MX3, the slightly raised angle that is a bit closer to a traditional mouse is also very comfortable. Love how the mouse is big enough to let me rest most of my hand on it. Feels really solid and confidence inspiring.
- Highly customizable. Really like how you're able to customize just about any of the buttons on the device.
- Beautiful design. Just really well thought out design for the mouse.
- Battery life. Been using it almost daily as it's my main computer mouse and I haven't really had to charge it for over a month
- Multi Device support. Really convenient how I can go between my work Microsoft computer and personal Macbook computer.

Cons:
- Desktop switching on Mac. For the life of me can't get the mouse to switch desktops like I do on my Windows laptop on my Mac. I'm referring to the gesture function where you can supposedly hold the thumb button and then swipe the whole mouse to left or right to change desktops. I've resorted to setting the thumb scroll wheel to move desktops for my Mac.
- Thumb wheel is a bit small. A little annoying but they apparently have already fixed this on the MX3 where they moved it to a slightly easier position to use.

Overall for about 60 dollars this is great great buy. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars This mouse is flawless.

I love this mouse. Since 2001 I have used either Apple mouse and trackpads cheap USB mice with my Linux systems. It wasn't until this year I tried this - an ergonomic mouse, more so than what I have been using, because I needed a mouse that could select between three bluetooth devices (where I could move the mouse from "computer A" to "B" to "C" in any order as desired. This mouse performs those tasks flawlessly - once the first paring is complete it switches between devices with great ease and very low delay. On top of that the ergonomics of this mouse are fantastic! I have spent the last 19 years with subpar pointing devices, including Apple's "magic mouse", itself a flat, spiteful little pointing device that people like me grew to tolerate. After using this mouse for the last month plus I am never going back and anything that dethrones this mouse from it's under my right hand will have to be a very special device indeed. Kudos to everyone involved with the design and production of this device. I love it.

Been wanting this mouse for years now and finally got it at a price of about $60, which I find reasonable. It's a decently big mouse, but I have larger hands and it fits me well.
I love the multiple devices feature. I can keep the dongle plugged into my PC and switch to my Surface or Android phone with a click of a button.
The scroll wheel is quite nice as well. It has both a ratcheting and free-roll mode, but while in ratcheting mode, allows you to spin it fast and essentially switches into the free-roll mode temporarily. Quite a nice feature honestly. The side scroll wheel is also awesome, especially if you do lots of multitasking where you split the window into half the screen, as you can scroll sideways. Also very helpful for Photoshop work.
My previous mouse was a Logitech G502, and compared to that, the buttons are a little bit louder. Overall, though, not a big deal at all.

I'm super happy with this mouse so far! For $60, I think it is definitely worth it. Personally, though, the reason I didn't buy it previously was because of the $100 price tag.

5.0 out of 5 stars So great I bought it again!
Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2021

Back in May of 2015, I bought the first iteration of the MX Master. It was amazing. I used it for college, grad school, work, gaming across multiple devices over the past 6 years and it served really well. (Laptops, desktops, tablets, etc) Although I foolishly broke the right mouse button while cleaning and the clicker broke straight off. Plus the matte finish began wearing away along with the gliders on the bottom. Although that's not a design flaw it's just from just overall usage over the course of 6 1/2 years and using it 8 to 12 hours a day, it is bound to happen!

The thing that sold it for me in 2015 and even now in 2021/22 is the ergonomics of the mouse and just the minimalistic design. Just the feeling of holding, the side wheel scroll, the rachet scrolling allowed me to make micro-adjustments in SnagIt/Photoshop. I don't need something with 10k DPI and I don't need 8+ buttons on my mouse for macros that I will forget about. The bronze trim color is amazing and so is the matte black finish.

I tried out the new MX Master 3 and it just wasn't for me with the hand feel/look. Compared to what I had already with the original MX Master I had to go back and I bought it again. It's going to be a shame when the time comes in 6 or so years when it comes time to replace this mouse again because I have feeling there wont be another MX Master brand new out of the box!
