2 YEAR OWNER REVIEW, EXCELLENT TABLE

The one we purchased was a natural wood finish and I was very pleased that it was not crummy particle board looking like wood. It is made of real solid wood boards and pieces. It was super easy to put together and it is very strong and sturdy. I am nearly 200 lb man and I can sit in these chairs and there's no warping or sagging at all the table is also incredibly strong I have even sat on the table and it has never warped or sagged and we've had this for about 2 years now. For something I didn't expect to last I have been extremely impressed by this table and chair set from Amazon basics. I don't know if they are still offering the natural finish I find the white to be very impractical because it's going to show chips and dings very easily I would think. I really hate the modern colorless aesthetic that to me is just very boring and soulless, there's so much emphasis on white and gray these days in modern home decor and it's just gross.

Mislabeled pieces, missing screws, poor design.

Some of the pieces were mislabeled, there were missing screws, and pegs weren’t deep enough so in order for some pieces to fit together we have to carve. It took forever to assemble this table because of those issues. Once we got it together we noticed there was damage to the top. Great. When I contacted Amazon they wanted me to disassemble and send back. Serious?! We had already tossed the box. Amazon customer service is usually pretty amazing and I have been really liking their AmazonBasic line, unfortunately this item is a fail. Wanted to love it but it was and is a mess of an item and design.

Table is great IF you seal it and chairs are trash

I got this for my son for remote learning it was great, until after the first week the chairs were falling apart. There is hardly any fish on these items so they are easily damaged. I wound up sanding down the top and finishing with 4 coats of polyurethane so I could actually clean it off as there was marker all over and it would not clean. After the chairs broke we took them apart glued them back together and tried again it last longer but yet again fell apart. We took one more go at it and screwed in some extra screws. And they lasted a little longer but still fell apart. The chairs are going in the trash as there is not any amount of good quality gorilla glue that can hold them together. The table top after I polyurethane the top it has been fantastic and very sturdy.

So I know it's a relatively cheap Amazon Basic, but for what you pay assembly shouldn't require extra effort beyond what the instructions state. Like other reviewers, while assembling this product, I discovered that one provided screw was not long enough to reach the associated screw catch. You can tell this was a manufacturing/quality control error because the mistake happened on both chairs in the exact same placement. Anyways, in order to get the screw to reach, one must chisel the screw wall down (damaging the chair in the process if you're not careful and don't use professional carpentry tools). Ridiculous. However, I will say once the tables and chair are assembled, they are sturdy (table, and both chairs supportedy 190 lbs weight) and look nice so at least there's that. Don't buy unless you're willing to do at least 30 minutes more carpentry work.

Good design, someone small. Not as sturdy as I would like for the $$. Also, mine came defective, one of the screw holes didn’t align correctly. I was afraid to re drill and split the wood. Will probably work for my toddler, but I’m sure I could have found a more sturdy table for the money.

This table is cute and serves its function. However for the price I would expect a brand new piece to not wobble because the legs are significantly uneven. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the table. I chose to keep it because after putting it together and sending it back seemed like too much work. My son loves it, it just has to be on carpet or there is a really bad wobble, except I got it for crafts so paintings on carpet is a bummer

I would not re-purchase this set. Product arrived on time but as I was opening all the parts up there was some pieces that were damaged or didn’t fit correctly. The biggest annoying thing about this is that one of the legs on the table is shorter than the rest so it’s lopsided. After assembling it all together I’m not going to take it apart to return it so it’s whatever… But I would not buy again or recommend.

No holes pre-drilled in the seat

There are no holes pre-drilled in the seat to securely fasten them to so that the seat is secured; the piece on the back of the chair has holes but the seat does not (see pic_the seat is turned over to show no holes and the wood bracket does). The seat in the front attaches to dowels only and can be pulled up.

Screw protruding out

I contacted amazon support and they said they'd follow up in 24 hours. We received this obviously for our kids and there is a nail protruding out at the bottom of the chair. It does not feel sturdy and the poor quality is dangerous for kids

The table top has several large, dark knotholes in it which will affect its being used as a writing surface...plus they look bad. My package contained 4 of piece #5 instead of 2 #4’s and 2 #5’s— these are the slats for the backs of the chairs. The screw holes are different between parts 4 and 5, so I needed to go to the hardware store for 4 screws and drill deeper holes to attach the top two slats. Annoying.

It was very sturdy. In less then a year screws started to get lose on it's own. If you do any art project or color with markets clean table asap or you will have plenty of stains. Small Mark's in wood from toys.
