2 YEAR OWNER REVIEW, EXCELLENT TABLE

The one we purchased was a natural wood finish and I was very pleased that it was not crummy particle board looking like wood. It is made of real solid wood boards and pieces. It was super easy to put together and it is very strong and sturdy. I am nearly 200 lb man and I can sit in these chairs and there's no warping or sagging at all the table is also incredibly strong I have even sat on the table and it has never warped or sagged and we've had this for about 2 years now. For something I didn't expect to last I have been extremely impressed by this table and chair set from Amazon basics. I don't know if they are still offering the natural finish I find the white to be very impractical because it's going to show chips and dings very easily I would think. I really hate the modern colorless aesthetic that to me is just very boring and soulless, there's so much emphasis on white and gray these days in modern home decor and it's just gross.

Mislabeled pieces, missing screws, poor design.

Some of the pieces were mislabeled, there were missing screws, and pegs weren’t deep enough so in order for some pieces to fit together we have to carve. It took forever to assemble this table because of those issues. Once we got it together we noticed there was damage to the top. Great. When I contacted Amazon they wanted me to disassemble and send back. Serious?! We had already tossed the box. Amazon customer service is usually pretty amazing and I have been really liking their AmazonBasic line, unfortunately this item is a fail. Wanted to love it but it was and is a mess of an item and design.

Splitting after only 2 months!

We purchased this as a gift for our daughter, who is only 18mo. The quality appeared and presented itself as really good, but after 2 months, there are splits in the wooden table. Within the next few months, I suspect the table will split in half. I’m frustrated that we spent money on something we expected to last for for AT LEAST a year, only to find out it’s splitting after 2 months. I’ll attempt to ask manufacturer for a refund or replacement, as the splitting can cut our daughters hand (I’m sanding it now). Will follow up on what the decision is. Thank you.

We purchased one of these for my 2 year old son. We have similar wooden tables at work that are Melissa and Doug brand. I would have purchased that brand again, but they were out of stock at the time. The Melissa and Doug tables are incredibly sturdy and high quality. I expected a little lower quality with this table, but honestly it's not even in the same universe. This table is light/cheap wood and the legs are uneven so it rocks on a hard floor. The Melissa and Doug tables are much heavier and it works so much better when your 2-year old is constantly moving and standing/sitting. With this table, if the kid moves at all, the table just slides all over the floor. I wouldn't recommend unless you just need a cheap table.

Arrived broken - How do I contact Amazon Basics?

Easy enough to put together but it’s not a very sturdy set. The middle piece that fits between the chair legs will not stay in place. I’ve tightened everything as well as possible and it’s still wobbly. The table has held up better, but for a table set made for children this is just poor quality.

Arrived with cracked wood. Lacquer has come off in just a month leaving stains. Sharp wood exposed on seat due to chipping while in transit I’m assuming. So luckily I only have one child, but the other chair is essentially useless unless I want my little one to scrape his leg constantly. Not worth the price.
