2.0 out of 5 starsDidn't help with dog urine, my carpet smells like vomit
Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2019
We recently rescued an adult dog that we were told was house trained. Turned out she wasn't. After 4 days we discovered she had been peeing in our guest bedroom. I used the spot carpet cleaner with all of the oxy additives and pet formula but i couldn't get the smell out. Out of desperation, I bought product.
The reviews for this product were awesome and I was pretty excited to get the smell out of the carpet. After 5 cleanings with the spot carpet cleaner, the smell was almost gone but not quite. So I followed the directions on the bottle of Bioda and thoroughly saturated the carpet. I let it sit for just over an hour and then I used the spot cleaner with only water to pull it out. The initial scent was very overwhelming as some previous reviews have stated but i figured it would go away after a few days like other reviews indicated. It did not. My carpet smelled more like pee now than it did before I used the product only now it smells like perfumed pee.
A day later the dog got into the room and peed again, while i was in there. I immediately blotted with a towel and sprayed with the Biota. Since it didn't have time to set in, I didn't bother with the carpet cleaner. I followed the directions and sprayed the spot, letting it sit for 15 mins, then blotted with a clean towel. It did not get rid of the urine smell. After a week the room smelled so bad like perfumed urine that I cleaned all of the spots again with the carpet cleaner filled with only water (since I had dumped all sorts of soaps on it already) hoping to pull out some of the perfume smell. Now it smells like vomit. We hired a professional to come clean the carpets.
I gave the product 2 stars because even though it didn't work and was very overpowering, at least the perfume didn't smell gross, until the end anyway.
