This is a very well-made chair that I shouldn't have bought.

I've put together my share of ready-to-assemble furniture and I've got to say that this chair is very well-made.

The hardware that comes with this chair is top-notch. They even include a T-handle Allen wrench, instead of the usual tiny Allen key. That's a small thing but it's a sign that the manufacturer cares about their product.

As a standard desk chair I find it to be very comfortable. The reclining function is a bit stiff, but it's stiff in the manner that is appropriate for office work.

But I shouldn't have bought this chair.

It's my fault, I should have seen the obvious:

The back of this chair is fixed to the seat. That means that when the back reclines so does the seat. This is not-suited for my needs.

This isn't the chair's fault; it's how it's designed. And it's a good design for an office chair.

But in my home office I wanted a chair that I could truly relax back into to watch TV or play a game. I love how this chair sits while typing but I just can't use it to properly relax.

But I can't say that I regret the purchase. I'll find a use for it and it really is a darn fine chair.

So if you don't need the back to recline independently of the seat then buy this chair with confidence that you'll be getting a quality product at a very reasonable price.

Sturdy, looks nice... not comfortable for long term use

Definitely check the box for all parts! The first chair I received was missing one bolt, and one washer. Also, the center the center hydraulic post was damaged. It would not rise with lever.

Received second chair, all parts were included this time. Chair is basically easy to assemble, arms are suprising heavy and sturdy. Wheels are surprisingly cheap for the price point of this chair. Even with mate wheels are loud and clumsy!

Chair is not comfortable for long days or nights in front of the computer. I would not want this chair as my work chair. Hours on this thing would not be productive. Gaming or School maybe, only for the fact your not going to fall asleep in this chair that's for sure.

Chair is perfect for home use, sturdy and looks nice! Great for short term daily use. The padding on chair is NOT plush.

I sit on this chair all day, it kills my back. I haven't had that issue with previous chairs. I think they look great and are good quality for the price. They creak as well, i bought two of these and both of them are creaky, i play with the tension in the fasteners on the armrests and that berks a bit, but not completely.

UPDATE: Two months later from the above message and all remains true. My chair is only more creaky at this point and the back pain is only getting worse. What little padding on the seat portion is almost completely compressed. These chairs are a $280 (I bought 2) waste of money. I will be getting rid of these.

Great until it started to drop by itself

Looks great and very comfortable, BUT...I've had the chair for about 16 months now and a few weeks ago I noticed that the chair started to go down on it's own (without pulling the lever)...usually very slowly, almost not noticeable until it's halfway down, but sometimes it's visibly quick where I see myself going down in the middle of a Zoom call and have to adjust it. I contacted customer service and was told that I needed to reach out to the manufacturer. I reminded them that it's an AmazonBasics chair so they transferred me to another representative who then told me that the warranty is 1 year and the manufacturer is in China, so there was nothing they could do. Shameful!!

I bought an amazon basics desk chair early on in the pandemic as my folding chair was killing my back in work from home time. I ended up giving that chair to my 12 year old son to make online school more bearable. My 18 year old daughter doing online university stole that chair. I ordered this chair (AmazonBasics High-Back Executive Swivel Office Desk Chair with Ribbed Puresoft Upholstery ) for myself as a replacement. It is a good looking chair BUT the padding on the chair is insufficient for a 6'1" 220lb person. By the end of my first work at home day in this chair my nether region was basically numb.

I traded thid fancy looking chair to the 18yo daughter for the older more padded chair and everyone is happy except the 12yo boy but he basically does class from his bed. go 2020!

So looks overall nice. Thought would be lil more amber color to match desk color. Has zero cushion so might as well be a plastic hard back chair. Quality seems good though but every single chair I’ve bought the pu leather falls apart after warranty so I bought expended warranty for first time - we will see how that goes as I’m sure will use it. Ergonomic? If that’s the pressure on my back just from sitting a few minutes making it uncomfortable then sure it’s ergonomic then. Looks pretty, feels terrible.

I purchased the grey color and have used it for about 8 months now. The chair itself is sturdy but lacks cushioning on the bottom and the seat portion is too long making it difficult to sit comfortably where my back, thighs and hips are content for longer than 20 minutes. Also the lack of adjustable arm rests makes it more awkward when positioned at my desk. Next time I will only purchase from a brick/mortar store where I can try multiple chairs for a best fit.

When you assemble it and sit on it you will be shocked on how comfortable this thing is. If your doctor suggested you to sit on a firm chair then this is your guy. But if you plan to spend time on your computer at home, you might be better off at Starbucks!

But hey the design is there and the finish is all right but price is stiff for the comfort. They should add some padding. The back feel kind of empty and not supportive.

The chair looks nice and is comfortable. However, the seat cushion came with a small rip, though it was covered in a plastic wrap. It doesn't affect my daily use so I decided not to return it given the hassle. But given this experience, I am much less likely to buy AmazonBasics items going forward.

Internal Base falls apart

I went to move my chair from one room to another I picked it up gently the base fell off and all of the parts from inside of the base came off of the chair I moved another chair that was even older than this one and walked up a flight of stairs bumping the non-Amazon chair with no issues that chair is still intact however this chair is a year old I am super disappointed that a chair it was rarely used fell apart

It looks as advertised. It's functionality is lacking. It isn't all that comfortable. The tension adjustment for leaning back gives you about as much of a recline as coach on Spirit Air. It is clunky. It makes noises as you get up an and when you sit down -- making me think the mechanism of the chair will wear out well before the contact/touch areas.
