This is a very well-made chair that I shouldn't have bought.

I've put together my share of ready-to-assemble furniture and I've got to say that this chair is very well-made.

The hardware that comes with this chair is top-notch. They even include a T-handle Allen wrench, instead of the usual tiny Allen key. That's a small thing but it's a sign that the manufacturer cares about their product.

As a standard desk chair I find it to be very comfortable. The reclining function is a bit stiff, but it's stiff in the manner that is appropriate for office work.

But I shouldn't have bought this chair.

It's my fault, I should have seen the obvious:

The back of this chair is fixed to the seat. That means that when the back reclines so does the seat. This is not-suited for my needs.

This isn't the chair's fault; it's how it's designed. And it's a good design for an office chair.

But in my home office I wanted a chair that I could truly relax back into to watch TV or play a game. I love how this chair sits while typing but I just can't use it to properly relax.

But I can't say that I regret the purchase. I'll find a use for it and it really is a darn fine chair.

So if you don't need the back to recline independently of the seat then buy this chair with confidence that you'll be getting a quality product at a very reasonable price.

Sturdy, looks nice... not comfortable for long term use

Definitely check the box for all parts! The first chair I received was missing one bolt, and one washer. Also, the center the center hydraulic post was damaged. It would not rise with lever.

Received second chair, all parts were included this time. Chair is basically easy to assemble, arms are suprising heavy and sturdy. Wheels are surprisingly cheap for the price point of this chair. Even with mate wheels are loud and clumsy!

Chair is not comfortable for long days or nights in front of the computer. I would not want this chair as my work chair. Hours on this thing would not be productive. Gaming or School maybe, only for the fact your not going to fall asleep in this chair that's for sure.

Chair is perfect for home use, sturdy and looks nice! Great for short term daily use. The padding on chair is NOT plush.

Sleek and beautiful design. Super easy to assemble. And the faux leather is very high quality...it doesn't look cheap.

The chair very comfortable and supportive. The padding is good...it's definitely on the firm side, but it stays comfortable after a few hours of sitting.

I'd had a sore, stiff back for a while, so I had to ditch my (way more expensive) humanscale saddle chair. I was nervous about buying a "cheap" chair sight unseen, but after a few hours in this chair, I bought a second one.

It's a good height (I'm 6'1" with long arms), but it also lowers under the desk easily. Highly recommend.

Functional, not hard on the eyes, but….

I like it, but I’m also one of those people who sets their drivers seat at almost 90 degrees. The chair is sturdy and rigid and that, to me, is comfortable. It is well manufactured in seemingly quality materials. I wonder how the faux leather will hold up, but it looks and feels great now. And the color is a slightly red leather, very brick-ish. My only complaint is that one of the arms has a slight flaw on a front edge, a sharp extrusion. And I mean sharp as in it may open skin one day with the force of a fall. I know I can file it to a safe edge but that may mar the shiny chrome finish. But it shouldn’t be there.

Update - after almost a year of using this I can add a few thoughts. It could stand more seat padding and I wish it would raise even higher. I’m 55 and 5’ 10” and am developing a sore hip from spending too much time in the chair, but that probably wouldn’t be if I had a few more inches to stretch my ankles and arches. Of course, the latter fault keeps me standing more at my standing desk. Otherwise, I still like it.

My chair arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with the purchase. The chair looks very high end for the price. Assembly was easy with one person and the instructions were clear. I haven't had the chair for long but it is sturdy and comfortable (and I am a heavier bottomed person). It took me a little bit of experimenting to figure out the tilt lock mechanism (You need to pull the height adjustment lever out, with the tension loosened in order to tilt back), but now that I have it works well and feels well-built and secure. Without yet being able to offer an opinion about durability over time, I think this chair is a great deal and so far I'm very happy with it.

I was hesitant about ordering an Amazon Basics office chair, especially because the price was higher than other options but I am very happy I chose this chair. It was super easy to assemble, Amazon did a great job of giving you a very easy, straight forward and well organized instruction manual and hardware.

The chair is very comfortable. I love the high back in place of a head rest, and the ergonomic shape does make the difference in giving your back good support and improving your posture. The seat is comfortable, it is not super cushion-y which I like, it is not hard either.

The only thing I might be weary of is the wheels, but if these aren't great it is very cheap and easy to order replacements more to your liking.

I was able to assemble this chair on my own - it did take about half an hour as there were myriad screws involved but each category was clearly labeled in the packaging - and the instructions were very clear - after a few months usefrom Mon to Fri from 10 am to 6 pm (I too am working from home), I've had no problem with the spring mechanism for height control or the knob for tightening the incline - the fabric is 'pleather' but is comfortable, easy to clean, and looks very chic (I chose the grey) - my only very slight complaint is that the bottom of the chair does not align exactly with the seat due to a slight disparity - but no one sees or knows but me (I have OCD) - all in all, I would say great value for the price

I wanted something that looked nice in the office but was comfortable as well. This hit the mark. I was able to put the chair together myself without any help. It works great for me and the bf thought it was nice too. I’m4”11 for reference and he is 6”1 so def a difference in size. The lever for height is smooth and worked perfect for us. I totally recommend this chair!

Very happy with this purchase.

PRO: Supportive, firm back and seat (but not too firm), padded armrests at a comfortable height, good length and width of seat for someone of average height/weight, good range on telescoping seat height, reclines/rocks or locks easily, minimalist yet professional styling, easy to assemble (< 30 minutes by myself, with the help of another chair to lay it on during assembly).

CON: Not much. Maybe wish the back was a tad taller? Comes above shoulders to the base of my head, so you can't really rest your head against it (unless you are quite short of stature--but that is not something I needed).

This little baby makes ALL the difference. In addition to extremely well labeled and easy to follow instructions, this simple, yet HUGE improvement (on the crappy allen wrenches usually provided with such things) had me sitting in this chair in a matter of minutes. NO SMASHED FINGERS, dropped wrenches/bolts or fiddling around. Once assembled, the chair is nice looking, sturdy and comfortable. Really though; that handle on the wrench is worth 5 stars alone.
