Asurion has, on numerous occasions, sent me "refurbished" non working GARBAGE, wrong models of items, or outright didnt honor their terms. Meanwhile, you bet your contract they will come after you for insurance payment on their phone plans. Absolute hot garbage for equipment protection. Only giving good amount of stars because of the insurance itself, not who the company is.

Your plan does not cover loss, theft, intentional damage, cosmetic damage (unless it impedes functionality), and replaceable components (removable batteries, light bulbs, etc). The plan does not cover drops, spills, and cracked screens...

It literally is an extra upcharge with no value... In the process of contesting this with Amazon. Why do you sell coverage for manufacturer warranty coverage??

Misleading information on technical Support

This product alludes to the availability of Technical Support 24/7. However, when calling them to use this service I am informed the Technical Support only extends to initial setup and troubleshooting and nothing beyond. The pfsense Netgate SG-3100 router/firewall I bought this plan for is very easy to setup and operate. It does not need any assistance for the basic setup. I would not recommend this add on plan for purchase unless your technical skills cannot hook up cables and power cords.

Claim filing hassle

See my video. Buyer beware! The claim process is not as easy as the advertisement for the warranty purchase sounds. Lot’s of possible issues in the agreement contract fine print. My experience with customer service was poor. Lot’s of conflicting information and 3 very long phone calls. I have to send my HP inkjet printer back to their service center for review. The whole process can take 2-3 weeks without a printer to use! AND HP recommends that the printer must not be tilted or tipped once filled with ink (the ink cannot be removed for shipping) as ink can spill out. But Asurion wants it shipped anyway. So now I am waiting for my shipping box. I will let you know how this plays out.

OK i sent in my forty-pound printer twice from California to Georgia for repair. As you all know shipping through UPS is never a great idea because UPS drops packages and breaks boxes almost every box i ship and or receive is damaged. the repair center in Atlanta NEVER ONCE COMUNICATED WITH ME ABOUT THE REAPIRS. I INCLUDED HANDWRITTEN NOTES BOTH TIMES AND NOT ONE TIME DID ANYONE CALL OR EMAIL ME ABOUT THE REPAIR ISSUES. I SENT IT BACK A SECOND TIME BECAUSE IT WAS NOT REPAIRED THE FIRST TIME AND IT STILL ISNT REPAIRED! HP diagnosed the formatter was defective

I bought this Asurion protection plan for my Brother printer. I needed to send it to Asurion twice for the same problem. When they sent it back to me the second time, they never sent me the power cord, so I haven't been able to use the printer for a additional 2 weeks now. I was forced to buy another power cord myself. Next purchase will be through Costco. I will pay more for the printer, but will not get the horrible service that I am through Asurion. Never again.

Does not cover "physical damage"

A $500 LG monitor where the screen cracked for no apparent reason. LG doesn't cover it because it is physical damage. Contacted Asurion, and they do not cover it either. I will not waste my time and money again on this extended warranty. Would give zero stars, but that is not a choice.

Overall, this product is terrible. When attempting to make a claim through the Asurion/Claim website, the whole thing will crash on you. I've attempted to submit multiple claims only to be left with a loading screen. After calling tech support and being rerouted twice and held on the line for over 20 minutes, I was told my product was not protected under the type of damage done.

THIS IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.

In most cases, depending on the cost of the equipment, an extended warranty is worth paying for. However, in this case, it is not worth the headache and aggravation. Instead of replacing a brand new $450 device, they want it to be sent in for repair. Sometimes these policies are not worth the paper it's printed on.

This four year insurance plan is well overpriced at 25% of the original cost. But, in my case, if you use your printer a lot, and I do, and it is a business related expense that you can deduct, and it is, then it is worth considering.
