I like it!...after a little tweaking of course

It's lovely, pretty stable, and all-in-all easy to build provided you have a bit of intuition and a little skill. In my experience, the doors did not fit properly at first assembly, but I tried adjusting the tilt of the rollers and now it's spot-on!

My First Review Was WRONG.

When we got down to construction it was easy, but, the finish on the inside, especially the top section was horrible. Looking into the cabinets from a sitting position you could see where the inside top had not been finished or even painted. I had to take both cabinets apart, go to the hardware store to match the paint, then put wood filler on the coarse wood, then primer, then paint (there goes $30.00). The WORSE part was the pressed wood for the back. Unlike many other assemble yourself projects, this one had cardboard, but, in two pieces, TAPED TOGETHER WITH MASKING TAPE. Back down to the hardware store for two sheets of 1/8" finished fir plywood (there goes another $50) then prime, then paint, then assemble. I would not touch anything from this company again.

My only complaint is that it is not deep enough for a standard size 3 ring binder. I feel that it was worth the money I paid for it. I especially like the integrated anti tip feature- it was easier to use than others. It looks nice, was easy to put together (my 4 year old and I put it together in about an hour), and it feels sturdy. The extra support leg on the bottom that cannot be seen broke while I was assembling it. The bottom board wasn't rugged enough to hold the threads in place. I was able to quickly fix it with wood glue and it hasn't seemed to affect it's performance, and it certainly hasn't affected it's appearance.

This bookcase is so cute and perfect for the area I needed it for. I like the overall look, the reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is it was a little tricky to put together as far as telling which direction pieces needed to face to be the front. I had to disassemble and then reassemble a couple different steps a couple different times. Also I would recommend you place your backer board on the piece and then gently use your electric drill to make pilot holes for the little screws to go into the wood as the existing holes will not match up and this will save on frustration. Also the door would not close flush on the piece so there’s a little gap on both sides. This isn’t a big deal to me however as I think it adds a little charm and overall it’s a very affordable little bookshelf. If I was spending a lot more money I would be more fussy.

It took awhile...first package arrived damaged beyond repair. It appeared that someone along the way had attempted to repair the very damaged box with tape. I emailed Amazon, and since it was supplied by a third party, the third party contacted me. They were rather vague about replacement, but then a week later a new package arrived undamaged. It took about two hours to put together. It likely would have been less with some help. I must say that while this is not fine furniture by any stretch it was perfect for a narrow space in my not big bedroom to hold all the books that were stacked up. I would give it five stars but there was some rubbing between the doors that scuffed the doors because one of the doors was a little warped.

Decent Price and Quality

Although the price was decent and the quality of the cabinet good, I only rated it 4 stars b/c of damage straight out of the box. My mistake was not opening the box right away to check, but we were remodeling and have only been able to set up now. Was it the shipper? It had good packing protection surrounding it so I'm not too certain. There was scuffing of the paint on the one side, the back panel was damaged at the bottom as was one of the sides at the bottom along with the glass door panel. See pictures for examples.
On the plus side, the doors were easy to get in place and slide nicely, the directions were fairly easy with a little forethought and all the parts were included. I thought I would be able to put it together by myself, but in all honesty a man should assist with the tightening of all the bolts, screws etc. I'm pretty handy and have always been a dyi gal, but you don't want your cabinet to loosen over time.

Nicer than I expected for the price. Very easy to put together and the doors slide very smooth. Nice little addition to the room. (Plus I can now hide the kids video games in there so they're not laying out) i actually just bought another one for the other side of the fireplace to have a matching set.

Looks nice in my home and the perfect solution for a narrow space because doors slide instead of opening outward. A little cheaply made but for the price satisfied. The only thing I would suggest to the seller/mfg is that they should list the actual shelf depth which is 9.25 inches as it was not deep enough for some books and provide more instructions because on the first one I assembled I got the shelf upside down, if they had put arrow stickers to indicate which end is up on the side boards it would have made it less frustrating to assemble.

Good for chapter books, but not wide children’s books

I love the look and style of this bookshelf. My original intention was to use it for my children’s books, but many of them are too wide for the shelves and the doors won’t close. The corner was also damaged upon delivery. Assembly was easy, but I definitely recommend using the provided L bracket to secure this piece to the wall because it’s a bit flimsy.

So far the hutch is great! Exactly what I was wanting. My biggest headache was my product was missing the installation instructions. After searching online for a digital manual I found something, that for the most part worked. Lets be honest, if you know your way with tools you can figure out how to put furniture together. Took me a bit longer to put together, about 40 min total. Very sturdy and tight. The package delivered was a bit beat up wich caused small amounts of distress on some corners. All in all, happy with my product but better packaging WITH my instructions could have landed a 5 star.

This is a handsome bookcase and serves its purpose. The colour is rich and the construction fairly sturdy. Two people are required to put it together, but it is fairly easy to assemble. My main complaint is that the doors do not align properly --even when the hardware is used for adjustment. There is a gap between the door and the side panel at the bottom. Weight limits make the shelves useful for lighter books.
