Buy a Less Expensive Bike at Walmart.

This is a review of the 12" bike. It looks good, but it is really heavy for a child AND required almost a total rebuild right out of the box. Box shows tools needed. It indicated you need 4-5 different METRIC wrenches. I only used 1 of the wrenches it listed. List also specified 4 different METRIC Allan wrenches needed. The bike didn't have even 1 single Allen bolt on it!! BUT I did autobody repair for 16 years and have vast inventory of tool AND I had almost every tool out my toolbox to assemble the bike and adjust everything. And I mean adjust EVERYTHING! The wheels wouldn't even spin freely!! REALLY? The peddle crank bearings and chain were so tight there was NO WAY my 3-year-old granddaughter would even have the muscles to peddle it. The front fork bearings were so tight it wouldn't steer. Ever try to ride a bike without moving the handlebars left & right?? The 20 page "Manual" only had 2 pages relevant to this bike. All other assembly instructions were for bikes with shifters, hand brakes & fenders. None of those instructions are applicable to this 12" model with coaster brakes. Easy assembly? Sure, if you just want to just look at it and never ride it!! After purchase is not the time to be advised (by the manual) that the Chinese bearings are not polished or lubricated. The manual suggests Lithium lubricates be applied. WELL FOLKS - how are you supposed to lubricate bearings without disassembly?? You can't. Fast assembly? Yes, if you don't want to tear it completely down to make the bike steer, peddle, and the wheels spin freely. I'm pretty mechanical and I spent almost 5 hours making this bike functional for its maiden ride. My granddaughter can ride a Balance Bike for a full city block, coasting the entire way with her feet up. She would not have been able to peddle this bike 5 feet. For the price, I shouldn't have had to spend 5 hours prepping it. Go to Walmart and buy a $90 bike that works as you roll it out of the store.
