How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsPerfect for kiddos that like to help but constant supervision is a must!
Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2019
I ended up purchasing 3 different kitchen helper kids stools on Amazon to decide which one to keep. All three of them had design flaws that ultimately make them a bit unsafe. There is no doubt that you should be right beside your little one when they are using any of the products pictured. I chose to keep the KidzWerks tower because it has raised edges so my grandson’s foot cannot slip off the sides. Also, the dowel in the front keeps him from slipping forward. The opening on the back allows him to climb up on his own but does make it possible for him to slip backwards. Again, none of these towers are accident proof but at least I don’t have to listen to him saying “Up Up Please” anymore 😂

1.0 out of 5 starsSERIOUS HAZARD TO TODDLERS AND SMALLER CHILDREN!!!!NOT SAFE!!!!!
Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2019
We just started using this for our grandson to stand at the counter with us to do activities. First off the platform they stand on, if not screwed into the side ,slips and slides and could cause serious injury if not attached. We screwed it in to stabilize it. Two the openings are way too big! This item should come with something to hold child in. Our grandson turned around and was holding onto the bar yesterday and slipped and fell through the large hole and seriously scraped his whole back and spine on the Sharp wood edge. IT is going to the dump!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor manufacturing

Item would be very easy to assemble if all the holes for the screws were in the correct place. Unfortunately quite a few of them are incorrectly placed By just enough, making it impossible to screw together properly, causing splits in the wood and screws sticking out. It would be sturdy if it weren’t for the splits in the wood. One piece (step, as seen in photo) had to be put on backwards to accommodate the fact that the pre drilled holes were placed wrong. Will see if the replacement is any better 😢 huge pain to return such a large heavy package. Had I wanted to drive out with my 4 little kids to go to a ups store to return I would have just gone to a store to buy a tower in the first place.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unstable, rough/pointy edges, cheap materials
Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2020
Color: WoodVerified Purchase
I purchased a similar learning tower from SDADI for my niece in February and was impressed with the quality and price. That product was no longer available so I went with this one, and I was expecting a similar quality from this item, especially given that this one was $40 more. I am disappointed, though. The material used for this tower is cheap pressed plywood. The edges of some of the pieces are rough or sharp, especially around where the removable bar inserts. The tower is tippy, with one "leg" out of level from the others. The screw covers are definitely a choking hazard and pop off the screw heads really easily, so we've opted not to install them. The wood is also soft, meaning it scratches easily. I didn't notice in any pictures, but the step also sticks past the side oddly - not a malfunction, just a weird design.

However, I love that this is compact compared to the Guidestar options and that there is a step (vs. just a rung or a ladder). It was easy to assemble.

Melissa Riepl
2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and flimsy
Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
For the price tag of this toddler tower, I expected it to be a lot nicer. The paint is cracked all over but hasn't started chipping. The holes for the screws were drilled too large so most of the screws strip out before being very tight. I was using hand tools, not power tools to assemble. Once fully assembled it is still pretty flimsy/wobbly. I have seen other toddler towers at our friend's houses that are able to support adults and were priced similar to this. The photos for this tower make it look really nice, but in person, it is not as nice. It is technically adjustable, but you have to take the wood screws out to adjust and most of them are stripped out so it is difficult to take them out. If the paint wasn't chipping and you could actually tighten the screws I would give 4 stars. See photo of cracked paint.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great design, not great construction.

I loved the easy adjustment on this, but I’m really disappointed in the materials used. Specifically the dowels used did not fit the whole and slots cut for them. My back guard dowel has already split the base and doesn’t slip in and out. Not sure what do do with it at this point because I like the design.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unsafe, do not buy!

We've had this for a few months now and it's starting to fall apart. When we got it, it was easy to assemble, everything came pre drilled and the instructions were clear. After a month, all the screws get super loose and impossible to retighten as they just spin through. Everything is now loose and we have stopped using it

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost really good
Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
To start off it didn’t come with enough screws to complete the assembly, and yes I searched the boxes twice. But once I got it assembled, it is really nice and sturdy. My 22 month old loves it, BUT, he loves to use it to help me wash dishes and the water is already messing up the paint. And it seems like the paint is starting to crack in other areas as well.

So to recap:
Negatives: didn’t come with enough screws to assemble and the paint starts to chip
Positives: very sturdy, good looking piece of furniture, my kid loves it

2.0 out of 5 stars Easy for kids to fall out

So, my 18mo was able to climb and sit on the top of the tower where there seems to be a backrest and fall off it. Not a great design for kids who likes to climb up and jump from things.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not super sturdy. But decent stool. NO ADULTS
Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2019
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
Had high hopes for the price even on sale. Easy to put together, but not a user error it’s just flimsy when I say it’s not sturdy. Sure it can hold a 27lb child but the back bar doesn’t stay on the cut out for it isn’t even fully cut properly. The screws don’t screw well to keep it together so it shifts. But my toddler can push it around and use it well enough. Definitely watch with caution for every move and when getting on. Still a fall hazard.

Looks adorable and think it will work great for the kiddos but the first one we got had a huge gouge out of the step so returned it and got another one and it still has defects on that same side of the step almost like there’s something wrong with the machine making them? Hoping to get in contact with someone about getting one not defective or getting some money back.... kind of a hassle and definitely bummed

2.0 out of 5 stars Wish the quality was better, falling apart after 2 months.
Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2021

I was really excited to receive this product, my 15 month old always wanted to be with me in the kitchen and "help" with anything I was doing. I figured she would be able to be involved and it would save me from having to hold her all of the time. Within 2 months of having the stool, it is already starting to come apart. When she gets into the stool it sways side to side, most of the pieces that you screw in are already come loose. Also, when putting the stool together, the quality of the wood was so low that the wood split in several areas. My husband ended up using wood glue to try and give it some more stability.

I really wanted to like this stool, I did a lot of research before purchasing to get something that was quality and would hopefully last through two kids but I do not even think this will last the rest of the year. Very disappointed with the quality based on the amount that it cost.
