How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsUpdate: They won’t work on non Samsung Devices * Work on Note 20 Ultra*
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2020
UPDATE: I wanted to add that I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. These work flawlessly with that phone and they sound great. I will raise the star rating to a 5 based on sound quality and function for a Note phone. However my original review that received a 1 star rating will remain for those looking to use these as a general USB C headset.

Original Review: They flat out don’t work. Mine even came in full retail packaging so They certainly seem like the authentic product. I bought these for my Nintendo Switch but not only do they not work there where my OnePlus USB C bullets do, but they don’t work on any other USB C devices I have either. I feel ripped off as the product description flat out says they work with USB C devices.

Maybe they work on a Samsung but not my wife’s S10 so I don’t know what these supposedly work on.

1.0 out of 5 starsNOT SAMSUNG OR AKG - This is a terrible knockoff
Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2021
If I could give this -5 stars, I would. This isn't a Samsung or AKG product, but a phony knockoff with clever labeling. My pair came in an unrecognizable package - a plastic baggie with a UPC sticker - not what genuine Samsung headphones come in. I compared the earbuds to a genuine pair my SO got with her Galaxy S20 and they're obviously not the same - all of the plastic components are different sizes and the cable material feels cheap and is incredibly stiff. Sound quality? There is none - anything that actually produces some volume in 'both' earbuds at the same time sounds worse than any free earbuds I've grabbed on a long flight. In fact, I'm convinced this is from the same "white label" factory for budget earbuds and someone had extra Samsung stickers laying around. Spend the extra $15 and purchase a genuine pair from Samsung or a phone carrier until Amazon figures out how to prevent bootleg sales on the site.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great earbuds, Do not buy from 3rd party, they’re fake.

Make sure you buy this earbuds from Amazon and not a third party.
I purchased these with the shipped and sold by Amazon option. That pair is great. Sound is crisp and bass is just at the perfect level to me.
Then I bought them again from a third party at a lower price and they arrived in a plastic bag with a bar code. That pair is just plain garbage. I inspected them closely and found several differences to the first original Samsung pair I bought before. Some of the plastic was peeling off and the ear tips felt a little bit harder and less squishy.
The sound was terrible. It was a hollow sound, muffled and lacking everything, highs and bass. I have $10 headphones that sound better than this. Even though the second pair was $14, I wouldn’t use it even if they were free.
I returned the second pair immediately. I’m happy with the first pair but I’m going to buy another one from Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look No Further for Type-C Headphones! These Are It!

I got these headphones in the box when I purchased my Samsung Galaxy 10 plus and I love them. However, every time I looked up my boyfriend was using them. So I was happy that I saw them on Amazon and I bought him a pair. We love them. They are sturdier than other headphones and the audio quality is amazing.

1.0 out of 5 stars These are either refurbished or counterfeit

I ordered a pair of these earbuds and received them in an official Samsung box, and they worked great. They worked so well that I ordered a second pair to use at work, which were also great. Both of these were sold direct by Amazon.

I then ordered a third pair to keep in my bag and this is where the trouble started. I noticed these were not sold direct by Amazon, but now sold by ENERGY ELECTRONICS. This third pair didn't come in a box but rather a plastic bag, and they were wrapped around some cardboard. These earbuds didn't easily plug into my phone's USB-C port, and when I played audio on them they had a terrible hissing sound.

Thinking I just got a bum pair, I returned them and got sent another pair - also the same poor quality. I don't know why 2 of these were great and 2 were awful, but I'm not chancing them again. If the seller is ENERGY ELECTRONICS, stay far away from these.

What I like:
Sounds
Volume/play and pause control
Comfortable maybe not all day but for a work out sure.
What I don't like:
USB-C jack, in my model anyways it is not really sure and sometimes and movement stop the music and disconnect it so I have to unplug and replug. I though it could be my USB c port on my phone but after cleaning it, I still have the same issue. Also using other USB C Jack like charging, my charging cable feels very secure compared to when the earphones are plugged in. Maybe it just my unit maybe it just how it is.
So not for working out if you have this issue as you will experience multiple disconnects. In my experience best to be at a table while your writing something or looking something up, not a lot of movement.

My daughter is autistic and has very sensitive ears some times she needs sound cancelling as well. I have tried them for same use and was pleasantly surprised. They also have very good sound quality. They are fairly durable for what they are. They plug in thru the USBc charging port which may need to be noted for some.

1.0 out of 5 stars Knock offs and low quality
Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2021

Knock offs.... if you're old enough you'll remember that tape player hissing sound. I noticed that right when I plugged them in. Then I figured play them to make sure I wasn't crazy. Absolutely no bass. I compared them to my other ones and there is a noticeable difference in bass and sound quality. These sound like freebie give away headphones from the bank. There is no depth to the sound. I'm not expecting $100 headphones but it should be comparable to the Samsung headphones and others I've bought online.

I'm more concerned that they are CHEAP knockoffs instead of simply knockoffs with similar quality bc you never know what is real nowadays and sometimes they are real but product from a supplier that Samsung rejected that somehow these made it to the after market. However these are no where near the same quality of the originals....

Last, I looked for minor differences as copy cats are usually good but always miss something. See the picture, the serial number print, font and style are completely different. The rubber ear covers definitely don't look as good as the other ones too.

After looking at other reviews the white full box appears to be good and the ones with the black little holder appear to be bad, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

More disappointed in Amazon bc this is the second subpar product I've gotten in a month or so. They clearly are not screening the products like they used to.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken after 3 months and about 5 uses
Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2021

I had a set of Headphones with my Samsung Note 10 but did not get a pair with my Note20. The original pair of headphones I got with my Note 10 were amazing. I used them for running, working you name it and I really enjoyed them. After I lost my original pair I bough these thinking they would be the same. But no.... The earbuds would not stay in my ear when I was running and now, after about 5 uses it looks like either the volume control is broken or there is a lose wire. While I was walking listening to music, the music volume started fading to 0. I checked my phone and the cables and pushed the volume control on headphones. after some jiggling of the cables and pushing the volume control on the cable the music returned. 5 mins later the same, more jiggling of cable and music returned, then almost a minute later again the same problem. Definitely not the same quality as my original headphones. very disappointing especially since I believed I was buying the same high quality headphone from the OEM. The sound was great while they worked - not now I am in the market for another pair of USB-C headphones.

Purchased this as on occasion I want to be able to have non battery powered sound. Between the the wife and I we each bought a new Samsung phone and tablet at the time of purchasing these. The first one would after multiple plugging in, flipping the plug I could get it to work as long as I never touched the device or even touched the cord in the slightest bit. It would pause the song or just have the sound go through the device speakers. I exchanged for a second set thinking anyone can make a dud. I had the exact same issues with the second one. Refund and exchanges were promptly given. I hoped buying the same brand as the makers of my devices would make this a sure thing but not so much. These did fit pretty well, a little weak on the bass but we're talking speakers that are pretty small.. it didn't come boxed as in the picture but in a sealed black bag. Maybe I was getting a refurbished one instead of new ones. Definitely not in retail packaging for sure. Going back to searching for a new set.
