5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing Bluetooth earbud headphones! Better than a lot of expensive branded headphones in my opinion
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2020
TOZO has done it again! I have the T6 and wife has the T12, which are already great headphones, but NC9 was even greater. My intention in buying this headphone was to give this to my eldest daughter cause she started eyeing my T6 after her apple earbuds broke. However, after trying out this headphone, I was very impressed of the new features, noise cancellation and transparent mode. It was very easy to use. Just tap it and there you go. The sound quality are amazing for a wireless headphone. Rich bass, high and lows are very clear and perfect for listening music. The fit is of course just like T6 and T12 are great. It doesn't go off your ears that easy unlike the apple earbuds. Perfect to use for running and working out. I'm truly happy with it that I have to keep it for me and I'll just get my daughter a T6 of her own since that was she's asking for. I will recommend this to my friends and colleagues. Truly for the price... this is hands down a steal. For an earbud less than $60 you get TWS earbuds that sound as good if not better than Bose in my opinion... water proof, wireless charging, w/ active noise cancellation and transparent mode, nice casing and very well built to last. I'm just so happy with my purchase I had to do a review.

1.0 out of 5 starsDespite the excellent sound quality there are serious drawbacks.
Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2020
The positives: Fit very well and comfortable. They will not pop out. Music quality is excellent with deep bass. Noise cancellation works very well.
The negatives: After a full charge, the Initial setup was a little tricky. Pairing did not work and I have to reset. Battery lasted only 4 hours on the first day. I will charge over night to see it it changes the result. If you walk more than 10 feet from the blue tooth source, it cuts out. When you come back into range the pairing is inconsistent. Sometimes the left is connected and sometimes the right is connect. Each time you walk away and return you get a different result. There are serious gaps in the music. After noticing the number of gaps I documented 7 events in 83 minutes. Six gaps and one time it just switched the song. Volume: Initially I had difficultly raising the volume. I was able to get it to very low but I could not get it very high. Also it is hard to hear the women's voice when you switch between ANC and transparency. I am assuming that I have a bad unit and will try out a new one.

***update day 2*** After a full charge over night (4 bars), the unit started saying battery low after an hour. It repeats this message every ~50 seconds. After an hour the first event started where the ear piece disconnects and reconnects within 1-2 seconds. This should have never made it out of QC.

***update New unit*** After charging overnight. i used it for 2 hours and it started to say "battery low". When placed in the charger it indicated that the batteries are 3/4 charged. Very annoying. initial pairing was a little difficult but got it on the third try. This product does not match the reviews. I am returning it.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for the Price - But the ANC Isn't Great - Here's my Pro's and Con's
Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
For the cost, these are pretty decent. They sound OK on music, not great. They are fine for phone conversations. I am comparing the audio quality to a set of cheapie wired Sony MDREX38iP/BLK EX Earbuds, bought here on Amazon for $39 in 2016 (still working well). The Sony cheapies have a more rounded and realistic sound and a much better microphone.

So... I wanted a set of wireless earbuds with ANC and demo'd several different and far more expensive options. Overall the Bose was the best combination of features, audio quality - but for the price of $279, I couldn't justify them and returned them after a couple of days use. I also own a set of over-the-ear Bose QC-25's with ANC, but that's not a fair comparison either - due to price and form factor difference. My wife has Apple Earpod Pros which she received as a gift (from her sister) and they are awesome too. I've used them quite a bit. Just want to mention these to say that I do understand what great audio quality and ANC is.

The Pro's of the TOZO NC9:
1. Comfortable and secure in the ear.
2. Good form factor.
3. Transparency mode is great and allows you to continue to wear the earbuds in cases where you'd have to remove them otherwise.
4. Touch controls on the earbuds work well.
5. Volume capability is sufficient to work in noisy environments (barely).

The Con's of the TOZO NC9:
1. Extracting the earbuds from the case is ridiculously difficult.
2. Audio quality of the microphone (what people you call are hearing) is terrible (picks up literally everything besides your voice). Makes them impossible to use for business purposes on a commuter train, for example.
3. The owners manual? Who wrote this? Whoever they are, they cannot write in English. It's understandable, but really makes you question the quality of the earbuds before you even use them.
4. Battery life is just OK. I'm getting about 4 hours of music listening time.
5. The ANC... where to start. It's there and you can tell it's working, but it lowers the ambient noise level maybe 10%. It will NOT drown out crowd noise or conversations of people near you. If you're thinking about using this to get privacy in a crowded workplace - look elsewhere.
6. More on the charging case... The small form factor is nice, but trying to get the earbuds out is a huge hassle and requires your complete attention. There's literally no convenient way to get them out short of turning the case upside down and slapping it against your hand. A simple indention in the earbuds would have solved this problem. Just something that was overlooked in the design phase.
7. The extended warranty registration that pushes for a 5 star rating while mentioning "what kind of gift would you like - a battery pack, or another pair of earbuds?" While I do understand that 5 star ratings are a huge deal to Asian manufactures like TOZO, this was a kind-of sneaky way (IMHO) to skew the results higher with a reward.

Would I buy these again....? Maybe. But only at this $59 price point. If they were anywhere approaching $100, I'd save my money, wait until I could pay more and then buy either Bose or Apple Earpod Pro's - and then keep them forever.

Hope this helps!

3.0 out of 5 stars They’re ok I guess

These are decent, when they work. The quality of sound is good hot wireless earbuds. An audiophile won’t like these, but chances are you’re not an audiophile if you’re looking at cheap wireless earbuds. These will work fine for the average consumer.

I have two main problems with these. 1) the connection will randomly drop for a second and then reconnect when listening to music, this hasn’t happened on a call fortunately. This really shouldn’t be happening. 2) these don’t power off on their own! Several times I have disconnected, and not disconnected, the earbuds and put them back in the charging case only to find them dead the next morning. So I have to make sure to turn them off before putting them away which doesn’t always work because the touch controls are a little tricky to get working.

So here’s what you’ll get; a decent pair of wireless earbuds that have their quirks and issues, but you live with it because they’re inexpensive and that’s why you bought them in the first place.

3.0 out of 5 stars Questionable Outdoor Quality
Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
So I bought this product while in quarantine and so far I've been using them at home and they work fine. The sound quality is great and the noise cancellation, as well as the transparency mode, are pretty effective and work great. The first 2 or 3 days I used these, the sound would go out of one of the two earpieces but then come back within a second or two. However, recently, I took it outside with me while I went grocery shopping and the sounds in both earpieces constantly kept going out and would take long whiles before coming back only to go out again in a few seconds. I even tried powering off both pieces and turning them back on, but the problem continued, especially when I would put my phone away in my pocket... but when I used them at home again, they were fine, so this may just be an outside problem, but since I bought them for use while I'm out, this is a big problem. I hope it doesn't continue to give me problems outside....

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for music, not for calls
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
The Good: Paired easily and quickly, sound quality for music is very good, noise cancelling for music is good, comfortable for wearing (I had mine in for 45 minutes without a problem), high quality and protective case (buds fit in well and hit the charge points without issue every time), several sets of ear gels to fit different sizes of ears. Customer service was Really Good! (I emailed asking for a PDF of the user manual, and got it in reply in under 6 hours!) Did not drop a call connection.

The Not-So-Good: Getting the buds into the case was a bit awkward, but I am sure that it would get better with experience. Volume didn't get as loud as I would like for certain music, but was generally OK for me. No way to charge them without the case (lose that, and I have no idea what you would do).

The Bad: Call sound quality. Tried several calls from my living room (relatively quiet) and my patio (noisy). In both locations, the person I was talking to reported significant background noise/sound artifacts with noise cancelling on and off from both locations. It was actually worse outside with the noise cancelling on. In an almost silent room, the call quality was good, but even moderate noise caused interruptions in the conversation.

Summary: I really liked these ear buds when listening to music, but found them unsuitable for phone calls, and for me this was a deal breaker. I sent them back.

Updates at bottom—
Good headphones for the price, but most every time I grab them, the batteries are dead and totally unresponsive. I’ve used these about 5 times, and charged them about 8 times... I’ll charge them (plug the case in the wall) and have them ready for use, and when I pull them out to use them days later they won’t turn on and the case has no lights. I assume they are turning on in the case and going dead randomly, and I don’t see how I can fix that. (They sit in their case with lid shut on my desk...)

That aside, when they do work, they have decent sound and they do have actual “active noise cancelation”. It’s a far cry from my Bose headphones ANC (6x the price and size...) and sometimes it’s hard to tell if ANC is even on with these. The ANC on these headphones is way better than my standard AirPods, though (non-existent)...
Sound quality is almost as good as standard AirPods, but these are more comfortable.
Airpods are way more user friendly and trouble-free with an iPhone (expected).
Pill shaped case is a little annoying in your pocket.
Fit and finish of the packaging is impressive. On par with apple products there. But who really cares past the first impression with unboxing... that all goes in the trash...

I would say these are a great value and worth it if it weren’t for the batteries being dead constantly. I handle my AirPods the exact same way and have never had an issue!

—————

Update 1 of 2:
Changed from 3 to 5 stars...
Seller reached out to me after seeing my review and stated that I likely had a defective product. They sent me a new pair after getting my approval, and they came in a package with “UPGRADED” printed on the box. These ones do NOT have the same battery drain issue, so that’s fixed... I prefer the sound quality on the old pair still, but haven’t figured out why I feel that way yet. Perhaps I’ll just switch headphones with cases...
So this is a product review, not a seller review, but because of great customer service, they sent me a replacement product that has the quality you expect at the price.

——————

Update 2 of 2:
Changed from 5 stars back to 3 stars...
After a couple months of very occasional use, I realize both sets are completely dead in their case again. It’s been about a week since I pulled them both off their chargers and they have been sitting, closed and untouched on my nightstand since. I just went to use a pair and find that both sets of earbuds and cases are completely dead. I have noticed that the lights on the cases will randomly come on occasionally throughout the night and just start charging the fully charged ear buds.
If this is their upgraded and “fixed” model, and still having issues I’ve never seen with other earbuds, that is a big problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Equalizer apps help with sound but other Issues remain
Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2021
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
*ANC Quality*
In transparency mode (aka ANC off) there is an annoying hiss, as if the software is trying to compensate for something when it should just allow the regular noise from around you going into your ear. In the ANC mode, the sound becomes much better. The hissing goes away and the music becomes much clearer, with cleaner highs and deeper base. I was actually surprised by the sound quality with ANC on.

*Sound Quality*
Out of the box, the ear buds sound muddled, as if they are buried under a layer of cloth. However, once I used an equalizer app to set the sound, and let the music run for a few hours the sound quality became much better.

*Comfort*
The buds are light weight and comfortable in your ears. I've been using them for a few hours every day for several days now and haven't felt any discomfort.

*Battery*
The description says that these buds should last for up to 8 hours. Mine last barely a couple of hours. This is very disappointing.

*Other Issues*
Connectivity has been a problem. Once in a while, after you take them out of their case, one of the two buds will refuse to pair for up to 20 or so second. Also, on a few occasions, the sound kinda dipped out from one of the buds for a second before reappearing again. I also noticed that the connection gers interrupted when I go behind a wall (like I left the phone in the living room and went to kitchen area right behind a half wall or when I stepped into the rest room a few feet away).

*Conclusion*
Although the sound quality in ANC mode improved when I used an equalizer app, the other problems of hissing, low battery life, and dropped connections make this an unsatisfying purchase. I'll use it for another couple of days just to see if these issues go away and then, if they don't, might decide to return them to Amazon.

what I like about this earbud
1. Active noise cancellation is better than MPOW XM3 & Tribit NC. Game changer for earbuds. This won’t make you dizzy. I don’t know.? I think is just me. I always get dizzy with over the ear headphone with ANC. I think this one nailed it. They were able to balanced it out with just the right amount of ANC . Not too much and not too low or deficient.
2. Transparency mode is the biggest game changer. I tend to use this earbud more despite the numerous earbuds/ earphone/headphone I have, even when I’m outside and almost anywhere. I believe it’s because of this mode. In one tap you can hear the outside world and communicate with anyone. Its helpful also if your Brisk walking outside, you don’t wanna be hit by vehicles. I even use both earbud while driving with transparency mode on. I can’t do it with non transparency earbuds. I won’t even attempt. It’s not safe.
We went shopping once with my wife and daughter with me wearing it. I was able communicate without my wife being bothered by it using less volume. With non ANC and Non transparency ones , she always gets annoyed because she will need to shout or tap my shoulder and I have to removed the earbud from ear for me to hear what she Was saying.
Now I can’t buy any earbuds without this mode together with the ANC.
3. It’s small and fits in your ear . I call it espy mode. People won’t even notice it. Not like the AirPods and those that have tails. They make those kids look silly. Or the ones with ear loop or connected by wire or the neck resting longitudinal pads.
4. The ergonomics. It’s Comfortable and won’t come off even if your doing heavy work out, jog, run, dance, yoga and basically any sports . I tried to take it off with no hand involve. It just wouldn’t come off. Very impressive!!! My neck just got tired and sore and just made me dizzy. This is one of those earbuds that you won’t keep adjusting to get a good sound or in anticipation for a fall. I actually got a hard time taking it off my ear with my hand the first few times I wore it.
6. Sound quality is really good. It has a wide sound stage and a non fatiguing sound . It won’t irritate your hearing with the mids and high. It’s just relaxing. The bass is really good! It’s bassy but not overly done. Or probably I’m just a bass head . It’s has the best bass compared to to others in its class. I could run with this for hours without adjusting the volume. Even in the near loudest volume it won’t hurt you hearing.

The things that I don’t like but won’t matter for now:

1. It’s not the loudest. You have to crank it 80-90%. I like to play music near the max of my hearing comfort. I like to hear every instruments and all the sound that I could hear for me to enjoy it. I return this the first time I bought it because of this until I realized that I won’t even go for the highest volume for this. It’s more than adequate. You don’t want destroy your hearing. I usually put it to the level where it’s just below my hearing threshold before it gets irritating.
2. Connection- Some times It makes some connections problems like the other bud won’t pair or both will lag for videos especially if you did not take them both together from the case. Also some times it cuts off especially using my tv with built In Bluetooth. The music also kinda temporarily pause or cut out then play back automatically. I don’t know if it’s the ANC sensor. But most of ANC headphones and earbuds have the same problem. For the expensive ones it’s the adaptive ANC & transparency mode that’s cuts it off I think but I’m not sure. But for this I don’t think its adaptive because of the low price and it’s stated anywhere . So I don’t know what makes this like that . It could be just the Bluetooth or unpublished adaptive sound. I wish!.
3. The battery. The bud charge won’t last more than 4 hours playing it with 80/90% volume. Although most headphones based it with 50% volume usually.
The case will charge it only twice so far. I’ll probably have to write another update review on this. It’s not adequately tested yet by me personally.
There’s an app called 20 decebel. It’s the same earbud but different brand. And it works on this . It has an equalizer, update of software and anc control. The anc control has an off feature that will decrease battery consumption.
Update:
I returned it back because the case won’t keep the charge. It became like a docking station only. I heard a lot of this issue.
I was hoping it’s going to keep the charge because the sound was soooo good, but there’s no sign that it’s going to be well. Goodbye running mate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't Try To Cheap Out

This was my second attempt at earbuds. I was trying to avoid spending the big bucks on the name brand products. You get what you pay for on these. The sound quality was pretty good for me. For the other caller, the sound of the dogs barking was deafening. They could pick up on every sound I made, like typing. Then there was the constant disconnecting. My phone was still the same 12 inches from my ears, but it would over and over again chime in with "disconnected" then "pairing" (and not in the same voice which is really weird). My husband ordered the Samsung+ buds and I tried them out for a couple of days. What a difference! I bought myself a pair of the Samsung+ in the Amazon refurbished store. Third time's a charm. Wish I would have found these sooner as I am now past my return window.

This is the 2nd time i buy these....because well i had them in the case...and the case wasn't a smooth seal fit like it shows in the pictures (trust me i made sure i had it push in fully...false advertisement? faulty case?...any ways that's a different story on to the product review.

Our Company was looking to upgrade from The old Foam ear plugs and ear muff like designs (walkers werent a option due to other ppe) mainly for our Production and Engineering team we looked at a few options and came to a few must haves like :

* Noise Canceling but a option for some sort of "alert" or Ambient sound option , in this case the Products Transparency Mode*

*water / Sweat resistance IP6+*

*At least 4 hours on a single charge - since staff can sneak in a charge during their breaks (15 + 30 + 15 + plus any down time they might have out of the production area and when they are in the office*

*Due to loud noise /Environment we figure it should be Bluetooth and paired to their phones to make communicating even better when the engineers were running diagnostics - Check basically don't need to shell out for walkies... and just add a incentive

*Protective Case for the buds Charging Case preferably sold by the buds manufacturer to avoid product flaws with the case [not fitting or incompatible, cheap quality etc] * - check....but mines was Very...small it fit the charging case but not fully like shown in the Amazon pictures (basically like fitting into pants and your gut hanging out, case also didn't have a sort of latch to secure the charging case from opening unintentionally

*Protective case with a latch to keep the charging case secure and avoid it from falling out and get damaged or lost* - Failed - looked good on site but upon arrival it had no sort of "Latch" to secure it shut , and the protective Case did not fully secure over the entire Charging case*

*Protection over the charging port or wireless Alternative* - PASS/Fail
Product failed because even with the protective Case it did not cover the Charging Port at the rear of the Buds Charging Case, our concern was charging issues down the line as the port would get filled with dust and fine powders (something we have noticed with the company phones making their handheld use restricted more to speakerphones)
Product Passed and went on for Testing thanks to it Wireless charging option for the case

*Easy cleaning the goal to easily clean the buds and inside the case to keep it free of dusts and Powders* Product did decently I'd say 3.5 out of 5 due to the mentioned "Exposed" Charging Port long as the case still stays closed we noticed no Dust or powder made it's way fully inside just on the outer edges of the case.

*Option to display Battery life on the device or case - not required but a nice option* Fail /Nay this device has no option that displays the battery level of the buds on your phone or on the case but i have seen they have another model that does
(shame there is no way to compare the differences between the products)

Now the personal Review- i submitted my feed back , and figured i do the same here

Earbuds size are nice and compact, you notice them but they aren't a Burden.

Both Buds also have the Bluetooth antenna...or what not so if you want to use one bud you aren't restricted to using a specific side (in my experience with older brands only one bud would have it forcing you to use that side , - sony and ankers case it was the right Bud, you couldn't use the left Bud solo as it automatically tried looking for the right bud and was unable to connect to your phone

Earbud texture and quality- have tried different earbuds for personal use (Anker , Sony , Bose , Beats, airpods, Samsung etc) each brand tends to have their gimmick / Design signature, Ear buds are of a smooth plastic, and i thought it was great until the Right Earbud cut my the inner bit of my ear, i took it off and confirmed , a bit of the plastic frame where the ends meet was kinda sharp had to...well sand it down a bit until it felt smooth (i think it probably should of been removed during manufacturing since it was a bit protruding)

Water /sweat Resistance- no complaints it looks like it worked perfectly fine

Sound Quality is pretty nice although i had calls seem to be choppy where it looks the it cut off the call this could be user/ Device error on my end or the callers.

Transparency Mode - it works pretty great good for drowning out loud noise but leave out the important noise like... back up chimes, Horns and machinery

NC - Noise Canceling quality is pretty good

Earbud Charging/Storage protective case - Bought the Protective case that wraps around the earbuds charging/storage case and immediately saw it didn't fit , i ensured it had no slack so the case was smaller and didn't fully wrap around the case like the photos advertise on the items page, it also leaves the charging port exposed to pick up lint and other stuff from your pocket and surrounds, since i work in a environment where the work area is dusty...i kept that in mind.

Well yesterday i had the Right earbud in and the left bud in the case in the protective case clipped onto my belt loop...and it fell out

Then the Remaining ear bud broke in the area where it holds the silicone bud when i was trying to swap it out for a bigger size

Have now learned my lesson...to keep it in my pocket could be it was defective...

sadly had to buy a 2nd since it's cheap priced for the quality....literally about $20 to $40 bucks more than the similar or almost similar like earbuds you find at retail stores like Marshalls, Tj max etc

Hopefully the review is able to help some people out and i be sure to post a update with the 2nd Pair (purchased the exact same with the case again,

I purchased the TOZO NC9 earbuds as a replacement for my lost TOZO T10 earbuds (which I loved), so this review is largely an exercise in comparison. After a week of use, this is where I stand:
--Sound quality is pretty good, but no better than any other similarly priced earbuds I've tried. I haven't noticed anything particularly special about the bass.
--Noise cancelling is excellent, which starts with a good fit in the ear. More comfortable than the TOZO T10, which would hurt my ears after a while.
--Touch interface is...interesting. I prefer the physical push button on the TOZO T10 earbuds, especially given that I use these when working out (lots of sweat) and working in the yard (heavy gloves). But I suppose the interface might grow on me.
--USB C charging! Now I can finally eliminate my micro USD chargers.
--My only complaint is that the TOZO NC9 feels cheaper than the TOZO T10, perhaps due to their decreased weight? I guess time will tell whether they hold up.

P.S. I understand that Tozo has been compensating users for their reviews (in the form of a refund of the purchase price), but I want to clarify that I have NOT been compensated in any way for this review.

Update: after less than one year of fairly light use (no daily commute due to COVID), the left earbud will no longer charge. I guess you get what you pay for.
