I've been using "around-the-neck" headphones for YEARS, different brands, different features, cheap/expensive, the works. Decided to try something different and so far, not disappointed. Not sure if I'm 100% sold but not disappointed. Ear buds in general are very different from the way neck-phones work and that takes a small amount of change to deal with.
These headphones remind me of black versions of a well known brand's headphones. Battery life of the buds is great (as good as my original neck-phones) and since they recharge in the case they can last days on a single charge. Sound quality is good, not great. For me, there's way too little bass and no way to increase it. Volume however is no problem, they can crank the dB's. Passive noise cancelation is decent when the ear pieces are fit snug although talking with one or both in my ears (when audio off) produces a reverberating echo in that ear(s). Touch control is about 80% successful for me, usually not registering one of my taps. Auto-pause/play on removal/insertion is about 50/50 although I'm working on making sure I'm "doing it right" as you have to snug it in and give it a twist although sometimes it works by just taking it out and putting it in. Downside, sometimes it starts playing if I palm the earpiece. As some other users have reported, getting the buds out of the case is "difficult" as there's nothing to really grab except smooth shiny plastic. Perhaps if they added something like those little grabby tabs on the micro hearing aids. I was told that my voice sounds better on these than any previous neck-phones I've used so that's nice!
One weird thing that happens sometimes. Since they're separate RF units, every once in a GREAT while they'll loose sync for a split second, even if the phone is in my pocket. More frequent if I'm a distance from my phone.
Do they stay in my ears? Yes, yes they do. Matter of fact, just played tennis this morning with one in and never had to give it a second thought.
Completely a "ME" thing and not a product issue (more or less) is that they're SMALL, untethered and I have a habit of leaving things and forgetting where they are. No tracking ability (as others might have).
So far, really like them. I would recommend them to others (I already have) and if I lost them tomorrow I'd probably get the Pro's as a replacement. (more mic's, easier to remove from case!) I'd LOVE if I could pump up the bass and if they had something to help track them down but again, for the price, these are a fantastic buy!
[UPDATE]
OK, it's been a while and I've had some more time to work with these. Had to drop a star. Battery lasting less than I thought (actually started recording times and use) and I've been experiencing the un-syncing/drop-out of audio between the two earpieces more and more.
[UPDATE}
Well, it's time to hunt for something else. The sync dropping between the two headpieces is getting REALLY annoying. Now happens multiple times a day. Talking with these in my ears creates that hum feedback, even with just one - very annoying. Touch controls - don't, at least not a majority of the time. And why does my volume always drop to ZERO when I switch over to these? Tired of the problems and tired of trying to "work it out". There's a product that works great but is "quirky" and then there's this, a product that is annoying and doesn't work well enough to justify its idiosyncrasies.
