Rusty crap!!!

1st off this is carbon stainless steel do not get this confused with stainless steel yes carbon stainless steel is more durable but it also rust stainless steel does not rust.

I contacted Yier before doing this review to see how the customer service was. Let's just say the knife and customer service is the same rusty.
This is what I got. Please take note I hand wash my knifes.

I'm sorry for this situation. First of all, this knife is not recommended to be used in a dishwasher. Secondly, when we wash this knife by hand, we should dry it with a kitchen towel immediately after rinsing and store it in a dry place. Because the water left on the knives will make the knives rust. Finally, if your tool is rusty, you can rub the rusty part with the tool, so that the rusty part will disappear.

Compact and sturdy (though not self sharpening)

This knife block is a great option for anyone with limited counter space.
The set also has a very modern flair, so if your design style tends toward that, minimalist, or even industrial,
this would be an excellent addition to your kitchen.

The knives themselves feel sturdy and work well.
That they are each comprised of solid pieces of metal means never having to worry about the handle failing you before the blade does..
You also get a nice assortment of sizes and functions, plus kitchen shears.

One thing to be aware of, however, is that this is not a self-sharpening set.
While the set does include a sharpening steel, that is not the same as a self-sharpening holder.
Although that probably won't bother some people, if it is one of the reasons you select this set over another option, I could see that being a real problem.
Another thing to be aware of is that these knives are not dishwasher safe, so you have to be comfortable committing to hand washing and drying them.

We have been using these for a few days and very much like the weight and function of the knives.
Still, the best aspect of the set is the space saving nature of the knife block, which is comprised of four acrylic walls mounted on a flat base that has a very small footprint compared to more common angled knife blocks.

Had it not been for them being labelled as self- sharpening when they are not, I would have given this set a full five stars, instead of four.
Definitely recommend them as a good value with a lot of great features.

Just got the box of knives and while nothing we can note is wrong with the knives, there is a crack in the block. No big deal and really don't want to return the whole set just for the block.
Update review: These knives don't stay sharp long and a few are already rusting. (We wash them by hand and don't cut anything but veggies with them.)

The only problem I encountered with this set is the rubber inserts will not stay in the scissors so I cannot use them. Because the metal digs into my skin. I couldn’t return them because it started after my return window had closed. I probably should’ve written the seller to see if only the scissors can be replaced. Otherwise I’m completely satisfied with the set. Additionally, it looks very expensive and elegant in my kitchen.

Wish they were dishwasher safe and I don’t know if I misread but I was expecting self sharpeners and didn’t get that. There is a hand held sharpener so you can do it yourself which I don’t mind.
