A few issues but a nice product overall

My kids used to use a train table much like this in a playroom at the local library. Well due to COVID they haven't been able to so I was excited to get them one of their own.
It's very easy to assemble. BUT DON'T THROW AWAY THE BOX UNTIL YOU HAVE IT ASSEMBLED as one nut piece came out and was loose in the box. As most Amazon Basics products they don't give extra hardware parts. (Note: the directions are also at the back of the manual as typical for this brand.) It's not too heavy but it heavy enough the kids won't be moving it. The wood is nice. However I did have a problem with one corner of one inside plank (which comes in two long pieces) had some cosmetic issues. Fortunately when the kids have all the tracks on it you can't really notice, but it's not perfect and it's hard to say if that happened because of shipping although the box wasn't damaged. The planks also do not feel strong enough to support kids climbing on it. And they aren't completely level with each other, but that also isn't really noticeable when the kids have tracks all over it.
The toys that come with it are pretty nice. There's a few odd things though. First, some of the carts aren't glued to the base part of their trains, but this might be intentional so that the crane can just lift the top half. The big bridge was assembled with the tracks underneath instead of correctly... so I had to unscrew it, correct it, and put it back together. The airplane tower won't stay snug together. The crane doesn't stay together well either and the kids accidentally broke part of it... which explains why they had an extra part for it. I feel it would have been nice for them to have included a little vial of wood glue to help assemble the parts and keep them together.
Overall this is an impressive table! It would totally be 5 stars except for the issues mentioned above (cosmetic, had to fix things, some pieces don't stay together), and for the fact that I don't know that this will stand the test of time... while it seems nice I question its durability over the long haul. The kids love it, except that they can't slide their chairs under it to sit at the table, but it's a good height so that all the ages can easily reach everywhere... from my 2 year old and up. I'm happy with it, but it could be a bit better.
