Great GF baking powder and the amount you get for the price is incredible! I use this in pretty much all my GF baking; waffles, bread, cookies, etc. I go through so much, so quickly that having this ‘bulk’ option at such an affordable price is amazing for me and my family. GF items are not cheap, and with 3/4 of us having Celiacs, it’s something we just have to do, it’s our lifestyle.

Nasty taste, Very SALTY & incomaptible with Spelt flour

I purchased this item because in order to cook with Spelt flour, the baking powder has to be aluminum free. This baking powder will NOT work with spelt flour. Spelt flour is $3.00 a pound and Ive wasted several pounds of spelt flour using this baking powder. This baking powder is also very salty. I made biscuits and they went in the trash, the taste and salt was overwhelming. I tried tortillas and did not add salt, still too salty and there is a taste I can't quite put my finger on, but it is a nasty taste.
I thought OK, incompatible with spelt, so I made a batch of tortillas with wheat flour, I did not add salt. The smell & taste is still there but not as strong as the spelt flour. I am going back with my brand I've used for at least 20 years, Argo baking powder. Sam's quit selling Argo baking powder, that's why I was looking for something economical. For some reason Argo baking powder is super expensive.

Single acting baking power

Looking for single acting baking powder for making meat paste. Recipe calls for single acting powder French style (Alsa brand). Double acting baking powder is common in the US for bread making and is very easy to find. Single acting baking powder only rises once during the preparation process and does not rise again during baking/cooking (double acting). Very difficult to find in the US.
