No Safety Net
Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2021
This may be a one-off situation, so take this with a grain of salt, I guess.
I primarily purchased this over other options because the advertised safety net seemed like a more robust solution than a couple widely spaced bars across the back or DIY solutions involving bungee cords woven through cutouts on the stool. Unfortunately, the safety net mentioned in the product description, featured in the product images and noted in the assembly instructions/parts list was not packed in with the step stool I purchased. I couldn't find any contact information for the manufacturer to get parts and since this was a critical feature, I decided to return it.
The overall construction of the stool parts seemed fine, but I didn't actually assemble it to see how things fit together - I don't see why it wouldn't have been sturdy. There were a couple chips/blemishes in the finish (on corners/edges), but that's to be expected considering the number of trucks, planes, and ships this thing may have been shuffled between.
If you're not planning on using the safety net, it will probably be fine for you; however, if you're planning to use the net to keep your child from accidentally ducking under the top bar and backing/falling off of the stool, be prepared to return it in case it isn't packed in.
