3.0 out of 5 starsCherry MX Switches with faulty bluetooth functionality - included cable does not support data
Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2021
This is my first play with Cherry Black switches, this is a huge joy to use from browns and reds. I used to type on buckling springs but this has been a great switch that isn’t tactile (which allows me to type without annoying people!). The keycaps on this are inoffensive and look good in my opinion. Colors are pretty generic choices but do allow you to select a single color for the entire keyboard (something I’ve only done with rgb keyboards), though rainbow modes are available if desired. The bluetooth light is a single blue led, which can be annoying if you have a direct contrasting color.
Usability - I would recommend USB-C only if you can as not using the keyboard for a minute with bluetooth puts it to sleep (to save battery) and creates a slight delay when you begin typing again, this can be annoying during a gaming session depending on the game you are playing. Additionally, the bluetooth mode has, on occasion, made a key stuck or failed to register me not pressing a key. For instance, while writing this review I hit backspace and it stuck on, deleting the entire review, so bluetooth is a no go. Additionally, the included cable is for charging only, and can not be used with the USB to PC mode, you will need to supply your own USB-C cable to use this wired.
Quality-wise - you are using cherry mx switches which is always welcome in my book. The keyboard itself has a bit of weight and doesn’t move around while on my gaming mat.
To enable bluetooth pairing, ensure the BT/USB button is illuminated and hold FN + P until P begins to flash, you can now pair.
