5.0 out of 5 starsBest alternative to Clean Skin Club towels
Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2021
I've tried every disposable face towel brand on Amazon now in a quest to find a more affordable alternative to Clean Skincare Club after being duped by their predatory marketing tactics. I would say this comes closest to affordability and how soft it feels on the face, while still drying effectively.
These ITO wipes are soft and thick. They are textured and are absorbent. They come on a toilet paper-style roll and the thickness is doubled. They are perforated, but it takes some effort to rip them off, which diminishes the convenience factor.
I've found them to be okay for makeup removal, but I'd use something even softer/gentler for eye makeup removal, since eyelid skin is so delicate. They're definitely fine for cleaning. I like that they are unscented.
They're made in China by a Japanese company, and I believe the original text on the packaging is Japanese, not Chinese. It's not entirely clear what they are made of. The online product description says 100% cotton, the product photo says "100% plant fiber." The translated label says "pulp and rayon." I'm assuming that's wood pulp? While both are "plant fibers" in that they are made from plants, rayon is not the same as cotton. Rayon is a manmade rather than natural fiber. I also don't like that the online description emphasizes the Japanese company but elides how they're made in China.
what I like: this is soft after wet so not bad for sensitive skin, absorbency speed is slower than kitchen paper towel but acceptable. thick tissue not the thin one. I use it to wash face (faster than my nude hand).
what I don't like: not very environment friendly but my skin very easy to get pimple if using dirty towel...I always keep the used tissue for dusk, floor and toilet cleaning.
I saw it in my local store sale 6.99$ in Queens, nyc. price is high in amazon but it convinced for those have no Japanese store nearby.
