Good Product - It's Not The Device, It's You
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2020
I have been a tradesman (HVAC) who has dealt with carpentry, soldering, welding, plumbing and extensive power and control electrical wiring. This device is well made and will install correctly if, and only if, you know what you're doing. Being rated at 20 amps, this gfci is designed to work with either 14 or 12 gauge wire. You do not wrap the wire around the screws but rather insert the bare wire into a hole in the back of the device. Then you tighten the screw which clamps the wire internally. If you back the screw all the way out, you will lose the internal nut which is attached to it. The screws come backed out enough to do the job but if you need to, just back them out just until a slight resistance is felt. No more. Make sure you wire to the two screws marked "power" not "load". If you're not sure what you're doing find someone who does. "I have an old friend who's so bad at electrical work, it's shocking". DON'T BLAME THE DEVICE FOR YOUR INADEQUACIES. Learn how to do it right!
