Such a great food for our seniors!

We feed this variety pack along with the ocean fish shreds to all 4 of our senior cats. We changed from dry kibble when we adopted a senior kitty with diabetes. The shelter had him on an expensive prescription diet, but after much research, I found that Friskies Shreds have more protein and fewer carbs per serving making them even better for our diabetic senior than the expensive prescription diet. Eddie VanWhiskers is happy and healthy. His diabetes is diet controlled, and all his blood sugar curves have come back looking good at the vet. Our other three senior cats have lost weight since the switch and are getting around better with less pain as a result!

How or Where is this cat food stored?

My cats love this brand, I've been feeding it to them for over eight years.
I got the package on time, from Amazon, opened up a can and gave the cats. They gave the food a few licks and then walked away....hmmm, odd...normally, they eat every bit of it, then lick the bowl clean...and of course... beg for more. This unusual behavior continued 5 days....five cans wasted...food was never finished. So, I went to supermarket and got a couple cans of the same turkey combo and chicken bits....fed them the turkey/cheese, and they were more than happy to eat all of it one time, and beg for more. I checked the Friskies box, I received from Amazon...the food had not expired, and none of the cans were damaged.
I can only wonder if it's how/where this food is stored by Amazon that might be effecting the quality, i.e. the taste of the food, and since my cat cannot speak, well....??

Box arrived torn and cans looked like small dents. Even though the top layer of cans were slightly dented they were firm intact, as I got to the next level the cans had more damage.
I fed my cat 2 of the cans of food and he vomited it all up. I took out all the cans and the first photo is a can that I opened by pushing my finger through.
I realize this is the first time this happened but care needs to be maintained when canning, storing, and delivering the food.
I am a subscribe and save user of this product and normally it arrives is good condition. I will see how my next order arrives and decide from there if I will continue to purchase.

Cat loves, price is good, but this time dented cans were much worse than normal

I have purchased packs of Friskies wet cat food off of Amazon multiple times over the years, and they have always been great. They arrive quickly, the price is usually equal to (at worst) or much lower (when you find an Amazon sale) than any retail store or any other outlet (online or the big Club stores), and I've never had a problem. I will say there has never been a single shipment where all 32, 40, or 60 cans that I have ordered did not have a few dents and dings in at least 2 or 3 cans; however, when I say dents and dings, I mean very minor dents and dings. There has never been anything that I would consider major or excessive, until now. This shipment had 4 cans that were pretty badly damaged, and two of them were VERY damaged. I was shocked that 2 of them still seemed 100% intact given the amount of damage, and the other two seemed to have holes in them, BUT the damage was so severe it actually seemed to have crimped the holes completely shut! I definitely saw signs of metal tearing/small pinched holes, but the amazing thing was that the cans seemed to fold in on themselves which sealed the tear/hole! There was maybe a little drop or two inside the carton they came in, but the actual cans seemed to be "sealed" and did not have any liquids dripping out of them. I was happily surprised, but still, either Amazon or Friskies needs to watch their "handling" of these products! I would have been much more upset if the can's contents had been on the inside of the carton or inside the box. The box had this 32 can carton of Friskies along with some other items I had ordered, and the box was not damaged at all; thus, the carton of Friskies must have been damaged prior to being put inside the box and shipped to me. Overall, I'm still happy with the purchase, and I will probably still purchase again. Like I said, at the very worst, they are the same price as the cheapest price I can find locally, and they are usually cheaper because I can usually find them on sale on Amazon (just have to be willing to buy different flavors, different cuts (pate, meaty bits, shreds, etc.), or different # of cans). As long as the dents and dings continue to be minor (as with all previous shipments) I'm good, but if the damage starts becoming as bad as this last shipment, then I might change my mind.

I subscribe to Purina Friskies Variety Pack Cat Food Gravy, Poultry Shreds, Meaty Bits & Prime Filets - (32) 5.5 oz. Cans for a year+, and this month my cat got sick. We only feed our cats Hills Science and Purina Friskies. After 3 days of noticing my cat becoming poorly by the day, I stopped feeding him Purina Friskies Variety Pack Cat Food canned food and Hills Science, replaced w/ canned tuna instead. He perked right up, and I was able to reintroduce Hills kibble w/ no issue. He's doing much better. After speaking to a friend, was told that they experienced something similar w/ buying wet food off Amazon. I definitely won't make that mistake again. Extremely disappointed.

If you want to stock up on your Friskies can wet cat food this 32-count pack is a fine value, especially as it can be currently difficult to find these on your local store shelves, unfortunately. So, if you have one, two, or more feline friends to feed and care for, this may be your best bet, and no more than one can a day per cat is recommended. Also, nice to send this as a donation to your local animal shelter who will appreciate it. Hungry cats who like chicken and turkey will agree!

My Cats Love Their Shreds!

This is a good price on a 32-can assorted variety value pack. My 2 boys are indoor/outdoor. They like to sleep away the day inside, and spend the nights outside, where they hunt rodents and other critters in a big fenced backyard (where they're protected in our wilderness area from coyotes, bobcats and even the occasional cougar!).

I've tried many wet-foods over the years, and the one I keep coming back to is the Purina Friskies Shreds. It's easy to serve portions (not messy like some pate-style), and these cans are big enough that I put a plastic snap cap on and can keep it fresh in the fridge for a couple of days.

I augment this with "human" meat -- frozen white fish (any kind on which I can get a good deal) and free-range boneless chicken, to round out a healthy diet.

They love every flavor in this variety pack, and always lick the bowl clean. Recommended!

My 14 Year Old Kitty Loves All These Flavors

My 14-year old kitty loves all the varieties in this Poultry Pack. I had been feeding him special prescription food (dry) because he has Feline Urinary Tract Disease and had a blockage once. But I recently read some convincing information that the prescription diet dry food may not be the best approach. It works by adding salt so that the cat will drink more water, since more water intake is the best way to combat urinary issues. But why try to make the cat thirsty when you can simply feed him food with a higher water content to begin with (in addition to his water dish)? Especially these "gravy" styles, they are quite moist and I even add a spoon full of water and mix it right in. I'm NOT A VET, I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS for everyone, please do your own homework and decide for yourself, between you and your cat's vet. My Vet said this was worth a try especially since my kitty hasn't had a urinary blockage in years and it was only one time. So far so good, he's been eating this for two months. I've noticed an increased need to scoop the box too and the clumps are larger (my vet said to pay attention to see if his pee litter clumps were larger or smaller as we made this transition), so he's definitely urinating a healthy amount. Also, during my research I learned that the lower the amount of Phosphorus in the cat food, the better, as far as UTD risk factors. Apparently fish and seafood flavors have higher levels of phosphorus. So I did some more research and this brand had the lowest Phosphorous levels I could find with their chicken and turkey gravy-style flavors.

So I found this Poultry Pack that has all chicken and turkey combinations with gravy ("bits, shreds, filets" all in gravy). Another added benefit to this gravy style as opposed to the "pate" type canned food, is that the cans are much easier to rinse out for the recycling bin, nothing sticks to the can. So my kitty seems very happy and I've noticed a general mood improvement as well, he's been more affectionate. I think he's just feeling more satisfied overall.

We feed our 9 indoor cats Friskies canned wet cat food and Friskies/Purina dry cat food and they love it. Like seemingly everything else, the price per can of the wet food has gone up - it was around .50/can and is now more like .64/can - hopefully that will not last, but who knows?

One thing, be careful how many of the cans you order at a time - when the box is super heavy, there's a good chance you'll end up with cans that are leaking due to mishandling of the boxes. The cans are super thin aluminum and are easily dented which can lead to leakage. This order said "handed directly to resident" which is not true, I had them put it on the ground and I moved them into the house. To save time, the driver carried 3 very heavy boxes in one trip and one of the cans had split open at some point. I'd recommend no more than 2 24-can packages or 1 32-can package per order to avoid bad results.

The catfood box arrived damaged inside the cardboard shipping box which was in good shape. How exactly does that work?!!
It stank TO HIGH HEAVEN and I ended up salvaging 26 cans out of 32. Plus it was SO disgusting--Nasty A** gravy and fish cat food that had been left out for who knows how long. If you had ABSOLUTE ZERO GAG STARS I would give it to this delivery.
